Dennis Cirkin

players sometimes have to wait for settlements etc on release, maybe loose ends to be tied up?

We need to make sure we don't leave ourselves in the shit if it all goes south, there are lot of sides with a lot of decent lads who cannot get close to the first team, we should be skilled at getting them in.

As an aside the ex WBA lad who went to Ipswich is going to do well in this league, they are going to be overloaded shortly.

I could see a club like spurs inserting all kinds of sell on fees, buy back Conditions, additional fees like appearances made or more extremely international call ups into deals. Being 19 highly rated and a youth product they are not going to risk losing out too much should he really start developing

Even at this late stage any of the deal points could complicate things or worse they may be other clubs willing to pay more

could be spot on mate.

Well our recruitment lads need to be sharp then. Without cutting off our nose to spite our face we need to build a squad, not a romance with levy.

No doubt
1.3m for a kids with an impressive reputation at youth level at spurs sounds like shrewd investment .. the kids English to which seems to add value. Weve all seen spurs fans dismay at this departure...if they value him the club must, what's 1.3m in real terms to a club like spurs ?

Yes you would think (I have never seen the lad play btw), from what is said about him he has great potential, I think it would do any lad good to play week in week out, you can just see us losing out to a championship side like, the longer it drags on. Someone always seems to gob off before we complete deals.

And aye small change to them.

The are other intangible facet to... I read that he's recently lost his father, if true you don't know how much that loss is having in him. Moving away from a club you've been with as a child and the loss of a parent at a relatively young age, moving quite away from home must be huge for him.if it were me on his shoes I wouldn't want to rush it ...would anybody

This makes perfect sense.
I would imagine Levy will want all kinds of extras included that may make the whole deal too expensive, who knows what a sell on % might be, if it's too high then we may decide to move on to someone else. Why should we pay a fee now, spends months/years developing him and giving him experience etc then if we or he decides he wants to leave if a big offer comes in end of paying most of the transfer fee back to Spurs. I think most of that reward should be for us.

Hasnt he already moved away from home? I thought he was irish and moved to london with his dad. So th3 move would be to leave the memories of his dad behind and start afresh.

Just been having a read of the Spurs thread and nothing to suggest this is off. Not one of them thinks it's odd he played on Saturday and they are even accusing Bracewell of giving Sunderland the heads up over Cirkin haha!
Exactly this. We are so f***ing neurotic. No media has reported its off and, like, deals take time. Lukaku hasn't happened yet and that was in the pipeline long before this. f***ing Varane hasn't officially happened. Deals take time.

although I agree with your underlying point - can you not see why some fans would be worried: no left back at the club, gallacher deal was certain then went to shit, loads of Cirkin talk then quiet all of the sudden. Not the same coverage as varane and lukaku where there is hourly updates

for the record I think we’ll be getting him ans just need to be patient
