He doesn't appear to be blessed with pace, he's not great at attacking the ball in the air and being inexperienced he hasn't learned how to use his size and strength to best advantage. I'm looking forward to watching him grow into his role with us.

I would say they are fair observations mate but a little bit unfair to call them glaring weaknesses, more areas to focus on and develop

Burge not being able to catch the ball and Flanaghan not being able to pass the ball would be my idea of glaring weaknesses

The pace thing was my only slight little bit of concern on Saturday, going from Jordan Willis or even Sanderson to those two is a canny difference. Wyke got in behind with a few half decent runs early on and he's not exactly rapid.

It's the context I'm using it in though. I'm suggesting that if I can see them professional opposition will too and without a shadow of a doubt they'll do their level best to exploit them.

When do we play Gillingham? ;)

He looks quicker when he drives forward with the ball at his feet than he does off the ball. Maybe inexperience, hesitation, being caught on his heels a little. When he's on the ball it's just instinct, he seems to love that part of the game.
