Denayer - there's nothing to do in Sunderland

What could we have done to appease the prick? Pay for trips to Milan and St Trop every Monday?

We've done the very best thing we can to attract young players on loan, help progress the careers of lads who are prepared to work hard to build a reputation in the game like Rose, Welbeck, Evans and Alonso. Fuck the slackers, they'll blame everyone for their own failings and badmouth anyone whatever you do for them.

I was just pointing out that the appeal of somewhere like the NE is not as obvious or superficial as somewhere like London. If he's come here and hated it then I wonder how much the club have worked to help him enjoy his stay, which would be in their best interest. Improving their career is one aspect, but they're young lads and want to have a good social life too.

The fact the entire squad seemed fed up and divided probably didn't help.

Not having a pop at you mate, just pointing out that we've done more than enough to show players we can be a positive force in facilitating their development. The problem starts and ends with him not us.

Good players can afford to be picky with their clubs

Jason Denayer, can't

People saying "we've got a f***ing beach". A don't think he means a beach where he's stood there freezing his arse off as a dead seagull floats past

The ***** taking the piss out of the bridges like, fuck him the posh git, bet he never even had a Gregg's.

That's maybe a bit debaitable, he was spotted down the metro centre with Wabbly Khazri, was he not ?

It's all well and good you thinking that, but it's not a widely held view. We may not miss Denayer but we do need players to come here and perpetuation of our rep as a shit place to live from their colleagues making it into the national press doesn't help.

Say we try to sign a youngster on loan from city and they ask him what it was like, "it's f***ing shit, don't bother" won't help us.
I believe it's a great place to live

This is the sort of self pitying, over sensitive, read to much into things, paranoid comment that annoys the hell out of me on here but.........do you think this is a dig at us:
"I have always had certain priorities in my career choices. Now it's first and foremost a club that plays at the top of the league. In addition, in a pleasant city and with good supporters, who create a lot of noise at home.''
Sunderland does none of the

Sunderland is not a pleasant city and you don't make a lot of noise at home.
Cue the ban

It says in one of the links Lyon have bid 10m for him. The world has gone mad. How could he be worth that? I wouldn't sign him for 1m never mind 10.

We have just stunk the league out and these are the figures going about:

Pickford 30m
Kone 12m (rumoured)
Denayer 10m
Januzai 10m
Borini 6m
Defoe 20m in wages (no fee)

It's crazy, or does it just add to the theory that the squad wasn't that bad and Moyes got away with murder?

Proves that we need to sign british or scandanavians/eastern europe players.
Players like Kone/Denayer/Lens seem to never be happy(not cos they iz black)
You don't have to be talking about skin-colour to be racist btw.

Where is the evidence that players from Britain/Scandinavia/Eastern Europe have a better work ethic?

Haven't read the whole thread, but it's always been a problem for us. Sunderland, from the point of view of being an 'attractive' city is a f***ing disaster. It's the northern equivalent of Beirut. I was born and bred there, and in the old days, they lured really big stars (like Trevor Ford in the 50's) there by giving them jobs.

Fast forward to the age of the millionaire footballer, who wants to come to a 'city' who's nucleus resembles a traveller's camp? There are pockets of goodness and wonderful people, but really, the only aesthetically decent cities in the north east are Newcastle and Durham.

Our main assets are probably the ground, the passion of legions of fans and the AOL. After that we're struggling as we haven't even the funds to pay talented mercenaries anymore.
