Delivery men get couch stuck then leave it

They are great mind.
I’ve got a super king mattress due back end of feb, fuck knows how I’m going to get it up the stairs, it’s 380mm deep so probably won’t bend much. I’ve paid the £30 for them to put in a room of my choice
Top floor lads
Watch them every f***ing step marra. If they damage it, or your walls on the way up, they won't tell you mate. They are fuckers.

american fridge freezers are the best more than half of the ones sent out come back. People measure the space in the kitchen but neglect to measure their doorways even when you explain to them that the 80cm fridge wont go through their 75cm front door they still dont get it

people are stupid

All people, or just ones with fuck off fridges?

I had to remove my sisters bannister to get a wardrobe upstairs, the delivery men just left it in the hallway and scarpered.

That’s shocking, but as a homeowner you need to have a bit of foresight for what furniture you’re buying in relation to the space you have.

You wouldn’t buy a 3k ‘massive couch from DFS to be delivered to a 1 bed flat.
Learnt my lesson 11 years ago when i moved . took us 2 hours for 1 flight of stairs .ended up dismantling the settee. Need a new one now but reluctant. Most makers now do removable arms as an option on certain ones for this very reason
Daft of them to order that sofa for upstairs tbf!
Townhouses

The clever scam doing the rounds atm is a scam mail telling you a parcel has tried to be delivered but you were not at home. The charge is only a pound odd for re-delivery or you can collect it at a sorting office. The end result is a lot more than a pound. A friend got stung. Clever.

I’m
Chesterfield sofa's are always a problem, stupid sods wanting that to go up a staircase.
and I know it will always be the shops fault.
:oops:Decades ago I moved into an upstairs flat in a house conversion. The old inherited from me auntie Chesterfield sofa n chair got in ok. The Queen Anne seat didn’t. 10PM at neet I took the two box sash windows out and hauled it up from the front garden using a tow rope while standing on downstairs bay window. I had it years and probably only sat in it a couple of times. It left the property in a similar style having been donated to a charity with their van crew waiting in the garden.

Last sofa I bought I made two corex templates of the back n side gaffer taped together to prove to myself it worked as it looked a tight tight fit. The delivery lads were doubtful but it worked. They’ll have been calling me ”a right fackin norvern wanker” as they drove away no doubt.
Its a once every ten years purchase . They dont think
wonder how them London lot get on
top floor penthouse
Piano delivery thingy if it’s four or so floors in an old house. Can’t remember the name for em. Modern posh blocks have service lifts the size of vans.

When they deliver they'll more than likely assess whether the mattress will fit up the staircase without causing damage to walls or mattress. If they will have to squash it, drag it or believe it will make indentations in the plaster or wallpaper they should ask him to sign a disclaimer if he wants them to continue. It's not their fault if it won't fit up the stairs.
