Delivery men get couch stuck then leave it

Aye, as well as having the space for it to fit in a room, you have to have space to carry it through the house into the room.
That's why I bought a corner sofa, comes in 2 bits and had to make sure it could fit through the door angles etc. I've seen neighbours having to have windows taken out because their large 3 seater wouldn't clear the tight angle at the doorway

When me mate and his lass moved house I volunteered (along with others) to help him move furniture and that. Moved to a town house with living room upstairs and there was absolutely no way his corner sofa was gonna get up there. Gets me tools and spends the best part of the day dismantling said furniture, taking it up bit by bit and putting it back together when all up. Fucker had a new settee delivered 2 days later.

I had to get a big leather sofa out of my dad's flat when he died. Tried to manoeuvre it through the doorway for about 5 minutes and then just gave up and luzzed it off the balcony.

I always look for a good reason to fuck about with tools when there's some heavy lifting to be done.

A scenario that could've occurred when my parents bought a new couch a few year back. They measured the new one in relation to the existing one but forgot to account for the fact they had a small extension built at the front which made it impossible to get the bulky 3-piece in. Had to take the glass pane out of the living room window to get it through and saw the old couch in half to get it out.
I had furniture shop and have been involved in all manner of farcical delivery problems . The one like your parents is very common .

You need the right staff

Took SCS ten minutes to get the previous settee in, and I had to remove door handles.

Eventually we donated it to British Heart Foundation. Took them less than a minute to get it out

We once bought a cracking sofa on that Ebay from a posh gaff just down the road when they were moving house. When we went to get it we just couldn't get it out of the door, and they eventually realised that a few months earlier they had had a posh block wood floor laid in the room and the thickness of that had trapped the big sofa in the fkn room. They had to give us our money back and they just left the bugger there when they moved out.

That’s shocking, but as a homeowner you need to have a bit of foresight for what furniture you’re buying in relation to the space you have.

You wouldn’t buy a 3k ‘massive couch from DFS to be delivered to a 1 bed flat.
DFS will come and take it apart and rebuild it if it doesn’t fit

They are great getting them in,I totally forgot how they got our 4 seater in and when I needed it out I couldn't do it so end up smashing it up, literally as I was smashing it up someone replied to my gumtree ad and wanted it🤣

Once worked for Comet doing deliveries. We were doing a remove/install on a new washing machine.

The customer had installed the previous machine and then tiled the kitchen floor right up to it with nice thick quarry tiles. We told them they'd have to remove the kitchen worktop if they wanted us to install the thing.

They are great mind.
I’ve got a super king mattress due back end of feb, fuck knows how I’m going to get it up the stairs, it’s 380mm deep so probably won’t bend much. I’ve paid the £30 for them to put in a room of my choice
Top floor lads
