Dehydrocodeine (sp) Medication

I've had it before. It worked on the pain well and it had no side effects at all on me. They said I might feel drowsy and to avoid driving if I did, but I felt alert and felt safe driving.

Drowsiness, constipation amongst others

If you want a full list google

Make sure you put the strength you’re taking in the search too

Think that’s what I took after my c section. Made me feel sleepy and knackered although that could have been the effects of having two small humans pulled out of me.

Codeine knocks me out though. The stronger the better. Had stronger stuff when I cracked my rib and I was a zombie at work.

No side affects with those, not bad for numbing mild pain but I recommend Oramorph if you can blag your doctor for some, shit literally numbs you and you get the best sleep ever.

10/10 painkillers for me.

Most of these meds work better in combination with others like paracetamol and a non steroid anti inflammatory. Make sure with the anti inflammatory meds that you don’t have risks with these.

So for long-term pain management you recommend not taking any analgesics, or just not opioid-based ones?

I would advocate getting a suitable past-time hobby sport or exercise plan that you can adhere to get outdoors swimming etc I now run a bowling club (crown green) play competitively all through the year inc winter. Meets lots of people hand have some great banter and laughter. I have neuropathic pain due to lower motor neurone axonial dysfunction which has caused chronic denervation of both lower legs so no reflex at knee are ankle pain is chronic as well severe cramps fasciculations tetany/ spascitity having said that it does not stop me doing stuff ...it becomes part of you after 12 years.

I do use about one ounce of cannabis a month which is vapourised at about 180 -210 degrees so there is no carcinogens due to it being burnt at high temperatures. All my doctors inc pain management specialists know and are happy that it helps me sleep (taken before bed) and sleep like a baby, they have no concerns over it either.

Ive seen this lady below and describes exactly what is happening in the type of pain i suffer

Mexitil (Mexiletine) did help a fair bit but after a while it had a detrimental effect on my heart rhythm.
