Defoe

It’s a shame he wasn’t a few years younger when he came back he would’ve been ideal in this team.

Less than 24 hours after West Ham had been relegated, Defoe made a written request for a transfer, saying, "As much as I love West Ham United I feel that now is the right time for me to move on in my career. The timing of his request, however, drew criticism from both fans and teammates and was turned down by the club.

Not the type of person any club needs as a manager.

I was gonna say you can't blame him for wanting PL football. But then he ended up in Toronto.

If you can't remember it, look up his infamous advert for a personal assistant (many reports online) the complete tool is absolutely "lost in showbiz". Think it's fair to say he isn't the type of leader Sunderland need right now.

What do they have in common?
Both ungrateful, disrespectful and smug. And one is very tiny.
btw "Your just a short Paul Ince" remains one of the best chants
I can recall to a returning player. It may not mean anything to those not associated with the club, but the fans understood and so did Defoe.

personally I hope he leaves us alone.

treated the club like shite in the end. The last dance was more like a drunken pensioner staggering around shouting racial slurs at a family disco
