Defoe on Moyes at Sunderland

What a night this was for a 5th Rd cup replay. Loads behind the goal and a massive section in the stand to our left. Great turn out for Wednesday night. Took more than the Hammers brought to Roker on the Saturday. Brilliant atmosphere from West Ham fans to be fair, but we had the last laugh. Moyes wasn't involved.

The hatred of Moyes on here is the most bizarre aspect of your collective mindset. Not that you'll care about an outsider's viewpoint but the sentiment seems to have outgrown any kind of rationality. Like I say just the view of an outsider. It all seems to stem from a negative assessment he made of the squad when he had taken over. The way you go on makes it look like he'd been exposed as some kind of malicious saboteur.

Bizarre? He was absolutely abysmal

Apart from the rest of his old boys that he brought in, the one that sticks with me is the Lescott deal in January, stone wall sit on your arse for 6 months and walk away with hundreds of thousands of the clubs money mate. And all the while the people behind the scenes (fans who love the club) doing the cleaning, selling the pints, pies and bovril at half time or whatever were being paid off to save how much? I put him up there with McMenemy as the worst the club has employed as a manager.

The club was in a terrible mess when he came here. He shouldn’t have taken the job, however he is obviously a good manager if backed properly. Get over it it’s ancient history

He gave up before we even started the season. Texting journalists saying this was the worst side you'll see in the prem. Then he went on to sign all his old and past it ex players for a nice payday. Then destroyed all confidence in the squad by saying we are in a relegation battle after the 1st game.

Sums it up neatly

Before our game today

“He was brilliant to be honest. People always spoke about David Moyes being miserable but then he came and he really impressed me. His sessions, everything was with the ball, little rondos, possessions, attention to detail was unbelievable. Set-pieces, and all the meetings. What impressed me was how he treated the senior players. He wanted you to control the dressing room. He was just fantastic and it’s not surprised me the job he has done here.”

Bloke is a complete tit. Self-important piece of shite.

No doubting he's doing a decent job at your club but he was garbage here and couldn't give a rats about the club, supporters or anything apart from himself. If he has a bad spell and you sack him he will come out with similar rubbish.

He gave up before he started. We survived the year before under BSA but he portrayed it as a lost cause. Openly laughed at the club behind our supporters back. Signed a load of his mates on fat contracts at the club's expense then left and pretended it was nothing to do with him.

He did do one good thing though.....resigned.

We were getting beat every game, he wouldn't play one of our most creative players until he was forced into it by the fans, he played him, he scored from a corner, then he dropped him again, Moyes did not want to win, he was a parasite, here for the money.

This. To think many were happy with his appointment and that he'd probably just carry on from Allardyce. How could we be so wrong, from writing us off from the beginning he was absolutely useless, cant stand the bloke. Moyes for Sunderland was a disaster, blame who else but HE was pathetic

2 observations followed by three words...

1. Ex-players (or soon to be ex-players) all fancy a crack at the media stuff. Nice little earner, that - paid for watching footy and chatting to your mates round a table. The catch is you've got to have plenty of 'contacts' and good relationships - so you can keep in with the latest happenings and get chance to work alongside others without there being any bad blood. Jermain won't say very much bad about anyone - he's learnt to play the game and is a shoe-on for more media work. There's only room for one Roy Keane in the media.

2. That's half a story. "Yeah, lovely bloke - Dave. Training great; dressing room, great; contracts great..... ". So all's grand then? Oh, hang on - we've missed something - "But what about results, Jermain?".

(Gets cue from producer in the ear) We're not hear to talk about that.... let's carryon with the narrative. The Hammers are doing well and it's cos Moyes was a great manager and coach all along. Man U, Sociedad and Sunderland must've done something wrong if it didn't work out there... as you were, lads"

The three words - F**K RIGHT OFF

The absolute least of his crimes here. I don't think there is anything in that at all.

Compared to robbing us of all confidence and creativity, stuffing the squad with Everton pensioners and United rejects, passing over M'Vila in favour of possibly the worst signing we have ever made (despite strong competition from Rodwell and fellow Moyes signing Djillibodji), and then nicking off once he had saddled us with those contracts and a humiliating relegation, it is completely benign.

Proper snide poster you like.
Ban the fucker
