Defoe on Moyes at Sunderland

Moyes was a disgrace when here, look he’s doing well at West Ham it doesn’t mean we need a thread every time someone says something good/nice/positive about him, he was shit, his signing’s were shit and he flat out may as well said “we are down” after the 2nd game of the season, fuck him.

I don’t think anyone can question the pedigree of David Moyes and his ability as a coach. However we can question his commitment to his job whilst with us, his inability to create a positive feeling amongst the team and club as a whole and the awful ex-Everton/Utd players he brought in that were both uninspiring and had very little influence.
All of this. Envious of the job he's doing at West Ham, but blatantly obvious he came here in the middle of some sort of professional crisis and half-arsed the entire job. Got no reason to disbelieve Defoe on his man-management, but wish he'd shown half the initiative in recruitment that got the likes of Coufal/Soucek/Benrahama rather than filling the squad with any old shite he could scrape up from his former clubs.

Not sure what you mean … Spurs have always been a bigger club than West Ham
Up to speed now .

I love Defoe for obvious reasons. Mag goal and Bradley.

That’s crap he’s come out with there though. The man was a disgrace here .

Neck on the block .

I don’t even think he tried .

Before our game today

“He was brilliant to be honest. People always spoke about David Moyes being miserable but then he came and he really impressed me. His sessions, everything was with the ball, little rondos, possessions, attention to detail was unbelievable. Set-pieces, and all the meetings. What impressed me was how he treated the senior players. He wanted you to control the dressing room. He was just fantastic and it’s not surprised me the job he has done here.”
Defoe is repeating himself a bit.

What is it with the sad acts from other clubs who post on here? Freaks.

Don't forget you're simply the best Steven Pienaar.

Yet when he appeared on goals on Sunday the season after talking about Moyes time here he said his comments after the boro game really shocked the squad and it affected the players especially after finishing the season off so strongly with Allardyce the previous season

I have no idea what but I have always believed that something happened between Moyes and Short and his minions sometime after he took the job but before the Middlesboro game. It's like he actively went out of his way to get us relegated.

I present David Moyes
The absolute least of his crimes here. I don't think there is anything in that at all.

Compared to robbing us of all confidence and creativity, stuffing the squad with Everton pensioners and United rejects, passing over M'Vila in favour of possibly the worst signing we have ever made (despite strong competition from Rodwell and fellow Moyes signing Djillibodji), and then nicking off once he had saddled us with those contracts and a humiliating relegation, it is completely benign.

Proper snide poster you like.

Not sure what point the OP is trying to make. He's doing well at West Ham, but why he feels the need to try and present some kind of alternative viewpoint on Moyes' time here is beyond me.

I love Defoe, but he loved playing under Moyes so much that he tried to get away in January and tbh looked like he'd downed tools in the second half of the season.

Everyone who follows us knows what Moyes was like here, there's been multiple reports from other players about the poor atmosphere during Moyes' time here.

Don’t think any of us are going to change our opinion on Moyes or Defoe, for opposite reasons, so it’s pointless starting this thread up. Although I’m sure there’ll be a banning, offer of a fight and lion turd in a knicker drawer.
This. Defoe might have liked him, lots of players like different managers, some of our decent players probably liked Parkinson or Grayson. Doesn't change the fact that Moyes was a disgrace here. I was buzzing when we got him. Gutted to lose Allardyce but he seemed like a decent successor. The way he threw the towel in as soon as he arrived hinted at something really wrong in terms of what he was promised etc. But regardless of what he was or wasn't promised, his attitude here was a disgrace. He's obviously not an awful manager as Everton and West ham prove, but no Sunderland fan will like him and rightly so
