If Gus keeps us up this year, why don't you suggest that Purple do a one off charity gig at the SOL this summer. Donate all proceeds to say the Sunderland children's hospice in Southwick after you cover your costs. Get the club involved, local and national press, the lads on the front row etc.
You'd fuckin sell out man !

Ian Gillan Band were alright as well.

Ian Gillan always came across a decent bloke.
Used to live near Wallingford on the Thames.
The Mr Universe album is brilliant. They were on TOTP regularly back in the early 80s.

His autobiography is a right laugh, he loved his time in Sabbath and tells stories about wrecking cars, blowing up lakes and sinking boats and that was while they were recording the album. He called it a party that lasted for a year.

Flight of the Horse (best jam ever, a keyboard solo that pulls your spine out)

Kevin - Ball (cracking bit of double bass drumming at the start, unheard of back then)

Come Taste the goals (decent album)

See what I did there?
.

In that case Gus must be the Stormbringer and he made them Burn yesterday.
