I was following ayesanes high key guide yesterday. Good stuff. Reluctantly agreed to take some shots on the beach of my mates kids. Parents; why won't kids just bloody stay still or smile and look remotely normal man! Got some canny results nonetheless.

I've got a Facebook page to help with selling prints for my GNR charity this year. What a guy eh. Loads of people like stuff all the time, barely any sales at all from it though. However plenty of sales from people at work etc... Guess FB is a useful reference tool in that respect. Flickr is better image quality but people are familiar with FB. Helps being a loveable charming cad I suppose...

Kids are shit but parents seems to like them = money

I know it was a bit of an exaggeration but it does seem at time the world and wife is trying to flog digital photos these days (you can tell nobody has ever bought anything of mine apart from that 50c on istockphoto can't you)

7D coupled with the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 is photo porn mate.

Haven't been on here in ages, sad to hear that it hasn't worked out as you wanted it Sean, but you're deffo doing the right thing if you're not going to use the kit.
Haven't used my gear anywhere like as much as I should have over the last few months, but that's been down to other shite taking priority.
Everything I take pics of is for me, not with the idea of making money - but it is nice when you do make a sale or two. I wouldn't like to try making a living out of it - you'd need to spend more time selling, ad not taking pictures - and that's not the point is it?

exactly Dave, I had started to lose sight of what I enjoy about taking pictures in the first place. I was putting pressure on my self to make time to do shoots, time I didn't want to give up as TBH.

Think a lot of people are in the same boat here. Recession means less time and money to spend on expensive hobbies. I enjoyed being able to upgrade my astro gear as funds became available. Now, even if I have the funds, I struggle to sell my old stuff.
