Decent restaurants in Sunderland

All day session. Order a kebab in chilinos. Put kebab down then have a roll around with some gobshite. Pick kebab up. Get a taxi and eat kebab in taxi. Refuse to pay then go to room and bomb a few cans. Brush teeth and go to bed. Gadgies day out iirc.

This must be the Harbour View..there's one or two gobshites in there.

depends what they want to do around the meal, there's loads of nice places but do they want to do something in particular before / do they want a night out afterwards or is it finishing the night? What area are they staying?

Best beer though without a doubt.

Mama Mia's at the Ashbrooke good all round , mention Gilly for a free garlic bread.

My parents are staying up there Saturday night, they'd prebooked a hotel for Blackpool game before it got called up, going up anyway.
Nothing too fancy, just a nice restaurant for the Saturday night, good food obviously, no really preference for type of food (Thai, Italian etc).
Tell them to join the Sunderland and surrounding foodies group on facey #foodporn.
Loads of good recommendations for piping hot food

I see Louie Louie has closed its doors  that's not an endorsement mind.
I'll admit to going there a couple of times.

First time it was really decent. Food was spot on for a buffet.
Went a few weeks back and it was nowhere near, the place was a mess too. Not surprised its closed down.

Fair enough, I believe it was low quality but had potential. It resembled a poor man's Zar Zar Baazar. With better quality food, greater hygiene and a more vibrant atmosphere, it could have made the grade I think.
