I am constantly puzzled by the very good player comments , i have watched all of france's games and he has been very poor in every one, blazing the ball over the bar a few times , final ball going forward awful and giving away fouls with stupid tackles.
Watch the last 0-3 match again and listen to chris mag slaughtering him a out his crap defending etc.
Vastly overrated , poor mans alonso.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Was going to say I was surprised by some of the comments on this thread, but considering who he plays for its not surprising in the least.

Very good player, and I don't think the price is that outrageous tbh.
Fuck all to do with who he plays for. I've credited their decent players in the past, no reason to change now.

I'm one of the only ones who sees it as a bit of a bargain for Arsenal mate.

One Ginger Jack equals Debussy plus Cabbaye.

Well they can tell themselves that until they see him play.

He's nowt more than decent. 12m is crazy money and nee wonder they are happy to sell him for that amount.

I think he's been disappointing at Newcastle personally. After watching Euro 2012, I thought he was outstanding but he's been solid at Newcastle without being anything special.

Thought he was pretty good personally. My mate who is a ST holder also raves about him and he is a minority sensible mag.

This analysis shows how consistent he has been.

That analysis brings up some interesting points but it is a bit skewed. For example, "Tackles won" as a stat unless it is a percentage s Newcastle defenders will have to make more tackles than Arsenal ones. Debuchy's percentage of tackles won is 55% and Sagna's is 56%. In terms of total duels won (aerial included) Debuchy's is 57% whilst Sagna's is 61%.

That article focused on goals, assists and chances created to claim Debuchy was stronger going forward. However, it might just show a different style. For example, Sagna's pass completion is 85% compared with Debuchy's 73%. Sagna plays in a system designed to keep the ball and will often prefer to make a simple pass rather than put the ball into the box.

Debuchy is not just more wasteful in his passing either. Whilst they've both scored 1 goal each, a look at their shooting stats tells a different story. Debuchy has had 35 shots to Sagna's 16. So again, whilst Sagna suits Arsenal's measured build up, Debuchy is wasteful with shots. The shots taken might also show poor decision making. Of Sagna's 16 shots, only 5 of them were outside of the box. Sagna shoots more often than not, when he is in the box and has a greater chance of scoring. Over half of Debuchy's shots were from outside of the area.

He's still getting accustomed to the league tbf and he's still our best defender which says a lot for the rest. By Christmas, whether he is at us or Arsenal (more likely) he'll be widely accepted as one of the best in the league. Maybe not here though.

He's f***ing crap man.

He does nowt when he goes forward, he can't defend and he's soft as shit.

I really don't see what the fuss is about at all.
