DCL Promotion

I guess it depends what the DCL want to do next season.

The winner from the NEDCL would take the relegated teams spot, and Kimblesworth may make a case for taking Houghton's vacated spot from last year. I wouldn't like to see that happen though because it would leave the NEDCL very weak.

As it stands Kimblesworth 1sts and Kimblesworth 2nds are already going to be playing in the same league next year.
To be honest the loss of one team without a replacement really does weaken the league. Let alone losing two which is can only see as being fatal.

If the rules are only the winning team should go up then really kimblesworth shouldn't be allowed to go up. They need to remember which league welcomed them and not try to fuck them off at the first opportunity.

Also the DCL should respect the pyramid as it stands and not cherry pick anyone from any other leagues.

To play devil's advocate....Houghton and Littletown both did that shortly after joining the NEDCL (neither won the league when they went up either). If clubs have the ambition to move up I think its fair enough. Clubs will look after what they consider to be their best interests and not really consider the league they are leaving behind

Rumour was Kimblesworth were splitting into 2 separate 'clubs' as one lot can't stand the sight of the other. It could be argued that the rest of cricket can't stand the sight of any of them.

That's true, clubs do what's best for them and clubs having ambition is brilliant. However the county board and cricket pyramid do need to consider all leagues. An odd number of clubs in the DCL isn't brilliant but it would help the NEDCL.

Had heard that yet the last few weeks the second team lads have filled the first team. So make of that what you will.

Totally see your point but at that time the pyramid wasn't in effect like it is now. The only way we (littletown)could have been promoted was to apply.

That route isn't available anymore.

I think both clubs would have had an incline that it was on the horizon as the DCL, DSL and DCL leagues had already amalgamated and split into hierarchical divisions by that point. Both clubs wanted to go up, neither club won the league and both willingly left behind the NEDCL because they saw an opening in the DCL.

Whilst Kimblesworth might be one of the more unsavoury places to visit, I don't think they can really be criticised for not being appreciative of the NEDCL. Thats just the way cricket is.

I think the 2 lads at the centre of things have since kissed and made up. That's the talk among the league anyway. They were sat pleasantly talking to each other at our game vs. Rainton on Monday.

The cynic in me says that it's only because Kimblesworth 2's have secured the 2nd Division title. Come next year they'll be back in the 2nd team smashing 15 year olds around the park.

Kimblesworth Sunday 3s would give both the 1s and 2s a decent game!

Definitely. I think a few of their Sri Lankan lads have been playing in the 1sts lately.

One lad (S. Savarimuthu) who plays in their '3rd Team' scored 207 in the 1sts earlier on this season!

That's the route they should take as champions, however the DCL would probably take two teams to fill the gaps. If they did I think Silksworth would then be relegated.

Surely only 1 up from the NEDL? Regardless of the play-off result. A shame to see Silky struggling, they were a top club when I was a nipper, Keith Trotter et al.

Depends what DCL want to do. They want rid of uneven number of clubs? So may take one with no relegation or two with relegation. Could benefit struggling DCL 2 clubs to rebuild.

I think the DCL 1 should be even numbers so all teams are playing,

The NTSL should also play time cricket with them getting a chance to play in the premier league

I don't think it's necessary for leagues to play the same rules. If they were all similar then you may as well have an NEPL2 and NEPL3

I think there will be a third NEPL division within the next 3 years. As clubs are struggling i can see them trying to strengthen thier hand by getting the more established teams in. 4 or 5 in the NTSL want in and I would suggest the same number in DCL so it won't take much for it to happen
