I reckon they should stop using the riverside for owt but 1st and 2nd team cricket.

I know it would be empty for 3oo+ days of the year but yer knar.,.....

Peppa pig, movies, concerts, celeb matches......what are these morons thinking? Trying to utilise a world class facility to make a few quid to benefit the club overall. Bloody idiots

If it was down to me, I'd move all games to South Northumberland

The third paragraph isn't really the point mate. The fact is, when an event like this is put on, they promote it more than the main reason the business makes money. If they put more effort into promoting games, and then generating decent write ups and providing decent updates then people wouldn't moan. There are times when cricket becomes secondary.

Didnt Steve Walton (ex safc chief exec) say he'd have a concert on 200 days a year if he could. All county clubs need a robust plan to make money away from cricket through events, conferencing etc.

I think they do a good job at promoting this important side of the business altho yes, the cricket part could do with improving. Thought it was getting better when the aussie lass (wadish) was at the club but things have slipped.

Does anyone know what profit, if indeed any the cricket side makes? Is it subsidised by other parts of the business?

No, but there wouldn't be a 'business' if not for the cricket. Not a pop at you, but I hate the fact sports clubs are looked upon as businesses.

World we live in tho.

If only football, SOL only used 22 or 33 times a year.

Riverside maybe 60 ish days.

By utilising the majority if days where its not in use for cricket, you make more money which in turn helps the cricket/football side of things

the main reason for dccc is obviously cricket but i reckon more money is generated by the other side tbh

Michelle Cooling was a waste of money IMO. All she ever seemed to be doing was tweeting Aussie Rules Footy scores.

Nowhere near as good as Yvette.
