To each his own mate . Defending your wicket by all means technically within the laws is one thing, I can put up with that for its bloody minded commitment, as I said I would expect such a man to also walk off without complaint when he gets the bad one. Falsely claiming a catch is another thing , the umpire directly asks the fielder whether it carried, if he lies he's cheated.

Hypothetically, what should the batsman do if he nicks it, then the umpire asks him if he has nicked it?
