Not sure 'being a good guy' is the main criterion. If KP is to be believed, Prior, Swann and Broad are arseholes. Jimmy's run-ins with Jadeja were not the actions of a 'good guy'. The main criterion is toeing the line and sticking to 'the plan' IMO.

well he isn't to be believed is he, listen to everyone else who has been in the dressing room, good men like Strauss and Colly, and they have nothing but praise for those players. Why choose to believe a bitter man with a book to sell, who has fallen out with every team he has ever played with? Very strange.

As for Warner, yeah he is a bit of a twat, but it gets him going, and he is a winner with the talent to back it up. That's top level sport, it's all about winning, nothing else matters.

If Mickey Arthur was still in charge, he'd be nowhere near Australia's set-up! (or Johnson or Watson for that matter)

Other that Pietersen, who is a shadow of the player he once was - and we bent over backwards to accommodate when in form - which bad lads do you think are not getting a fair crack of the whip from England? Stokes?
Stokes...definitely. Iam, however, more referring to the general fear I have that the regime in place will not accommodate anyone not toeing the line. It's more an opinion, I suppose, on the selectors and the uncanny feeling that we have stepped backwards.

wish he was playing for England.

Laughable at times this forum. Too many people, just want a team full of yes men and for us to be managed by yes men. Plenty on here would be well suited to work for the ECB.

Warner - He's heard someone having a pop at him in a foreign language and asked him to say it in English....bad man, he has then been told something unreatable according to the BBC report. I would do the same as I'm sure most of you would...

KP - if he'd have said anything that wasn't true he be in court for libel or slander and .......... err Swann, Prior and Co haven't started proceedings so can be that innaccurate what's in his book. Yep I like KP but I do know he can be a bit of an arse too.

Regarding the whole sledging debate going on at the minute, I can kind of understand a bowler giving it a bit, although fully accept there is a line they shouldn't cross. Where I think there should be zero tolerance is fielders getting involved. What on earth has it got do with Warner? As a fielder they should be encouraging their bowler, but any kind of stick for the batsman is just unnecessary. He should stick to batting while his eye is still pretty good, as once he sneaks past 30 he has zero technique to fall back on.

This quote is from the BBC website
"I said 'speak English' because, if you're going to say something for me to understand, theoretically I cannot speak Hindi."

what does he mean 'theoretically I can't speak hindi'?

I think it may be more theoretically he can't speak English that well either!

A bit of a kernt

A bit of an understatement.

You'd think that after what happened to Phillip Hughes he might show a bit of respect to his opponents, as it could just as easily have been him, but he just doesn't have it in him.

Having said that, the Indians are quite vocal when it comes to on field 'banter', so god knows what provoked him this time.

Doubt it would take much to provoke Warner like.

He comes across as being arrogant, thick and a bit of a bell. He's a cracking player though and just what England could do with. Loads of players need to behave like bellends when they get on the field just to get them going.

At no point has anyone on here said he isn't a good player, I think he is a cracking cricketer, and would be one of the first ones on the team sheet if I had to pick a team, just a horrible human being.

I agree, probably just didnt word my reply too well.

Nobody has a problem with people wanting to win. See Brett Lee - a winner, a warrior and a man almost universally loved by cricket fans.

Warner, however, is a bell-piece who assaults people who look like children when it has nothing to do with winning (iirc he thumped Joe Root?). Or are we saying punching an opponent after you've lost is just 'wanting to win'?

File alongside Joey Barton for me.

Not one person has said they wouldn't have him in the England team, so I've no idea what you're bleating on about.

Don't think it's in question the bloke is both a massive wanker and a great batsman though.
