Why don’t we hold these payers to higher standards?? I know Short is a complete mess but not competing in this league is down to the players at the end of the day, imo.

I disagree mate.
We think that they are but look at them.
Washed out of confidence, some clearly not good enough at all, some finished in the game and the youngsters fearful of the backlash.
If you wanted to, you could criticise Coleman as with Grayson and Moyes before.
We have zero quality in the squad that would raise the standards, and even improve players and lack of investment is down to short.

Look when Mvilla was in midfield? It improved us no end. Probably would have given more of a fight if we signed him.
It no, we are relying on second rate players, has beens and loans.
Short hasn’t invested, it is shorts fault.

He is a good manager, even of a struggling team, just not Sunderland for some reason. Has to be a rotten core and a rotten owner that held him up.

He's done well there, no one can say otherwise, that doesn't mean he did well here, he bought ndong, didn't get mvilla chose to keep kone then failed to manage him, told the players they were shit much like Rafa is doing at Newcastle, thought he was too big for he job, got average players to play like amateurs, signed Mika, didn't replace anichebe in January, failed to have other targets when ulloa fell through.

f***ing everything he did here was wrong.

He was absolutely f***ing shit.
Why do people still keep thinking this .. Why didn’t Sam get MVila

So how does blaming Short help us right now...? He’s not going to invest and he can’t play striker...

He was in charge 3 weeks before the season started he was there when mvilla was waiting at an airport lol.

I'm not saying it was all him because I'm sure Bain had his day also, but to buy ndong and not get mvilla was absolutely shit.

Lad you’re a f***ing moron if you blame Moyes on MVila and that is fact

Lol

Exactly. Had plenty of time before he fucked off.
More embarrassing when people cry on about Moyes not signing Yedlin totally forgetting he’s absolutely shit

Helps when you can bring on a £20m attacker to replace a quality £24m one mind.
A 24m talent who was being slated as a waste of money primadonna eho wouldn't work, thought he was far better than he was and even at his best had 1 good game in 8

Since moyes came in and told him he wasn't doing enough and if he didn't run he would not play he's now one of if not our hardest working players and has 6 goals and 3 assists in his last 7 games

Moyes has to take a lot of credit for that

Works with some players, it worked with yours but with ours there was no increase in work rate (see Rodwell).

Tough for us, good for you.

To be fair to him, he was hit with a load of injuries to better players and left with a shower of shit, just look at how bad this shower of shit are this season.
People blame Moyes because of the relegation talk, his mistake was, in saying it, he handed the players a gold plated excuse to underachieve.
The team isn't second rate it is far worse than that.

Moyes took the job without due diligence. He quickly realised that we were in the shit. He made some bad moves in the transfer market but should have resigned as soon as he realised the financial situation at the club. I blame him for not leaving sooner and giving someone else a chance to keep us up. He was resigned to relegation almost immediately and had decided to leave very early on in the season but felt his reputation would be tarnished even more if he didn't see out the season

Yeah, that is a fair point and Moyes does absolutely need to take credit for that, he looks to have turned you around and you can now probably target a top 10 spot (where you would have been expected to finish before your terrible start). But my main point was that you are operating on a different level to those clubs that you listed - Arnautovic, Ayew, Ogbanna, Carroll, Hernandez cost £90m between them in the last couple of years. Lanzini, Fonte and Snodgrass would have also cost close to 8 figure fees. I assume you will be paying the majority of Hart's vast wages? Zabaleta is on a reported £100,000 a week. Is there foreign investment behind the scenes as I wouldn't have expected G & S to be able to sanction them alone as I can't think of too many high profile departures in recent years bar one notable exception.

Some of highest match ticket prices in country, plus 52000 season tickets sold so there is money there

Money and income wise we are about 7th on those lists that come out now and then

Way below the top lot but ahead of the likes of Everton, Newcastle etc

Top 20 in world apparently if anyone bothered which I'm not! http://uk.businessinsider.com/the-20-richest-football-clubs-in-the-world-2017-1
