David Moyes' SAFC Record

You said safc is not a club were someone can come in and be successful in a year. What do you class as success considering Moyes has brought about a failure all the other managers avoided?

You seem to be completely blind to the fact that these mangers didn't all start from the same place, with the same players in the same situation. Moyes is just the unlucky manager who's had the reigns when the luck ran out, and the ever-building problems finally caught up with us.
The seeds of this relegation were sown years ago.

No, he had more time to get his feet under the table.

Moyes got relative pennies given the number of players we needed to bring in. If he'd been as lucky as Allardyce to keep Kirchoff and Catta fit, it would have made a huge difference. Let's not forget how shit we were under Allardyce for long periods either. Plenty on this board called for him to be sacked pre-Christmas and into January.

If you think we'll be selling Kone or Khazri for a "massive profit", I fear you're in for a shock.

Of course we will. Kone cost less than 5m. Everton wanted to buy him for £18m. You're talking at least doubling your money on him.

Allardyce did have bad times, but no where near as bad as Moyes. Prior to Christmas he hadn't had the luxury of a transfer window where he was able to show his strength.

For all Moyes used to unearth gems at Evrtton from the Championship he has displayed none of that eye for talent while here. He was out of the game a good while before coming here so had ample opportunity to scout new players.

The vast majority arrived in much worse situations. Most took over mid season after a poor run of form, unlike Moyes who took over in the summer after a good run of form.

What has he done at Sunderland to show he's the right man for the long term job?

Things he's done well this season:
In your own words "not sell Kone" and "being unlucky Anichebe got injured"

Things he's failed at this season:
Absolutely everything else.

Clearly the right man for the job

I didn't say he'd failed at everything else. I'm happy to judge him rationally in the circumstances, given the much larger problems that have been creeping up on us for years. I don't think he's done brilliantly, but I don't blame him for this. I also don't see a startling shortlist of other options coming together. Not that it would matter anyway, you'd all be back round in the cycle next year screaming for another manger to be sacked. Rinse and repeat.

This. I genuinely can't believe the same 5 or 6 are defending him day in, day out

He didn't sell Kone, and was unlucky with the injury ridden anichebe mind

Having lost many of the players who were responsible for that run, and being soon to lose a few more to long term injuries.

You said the only things he did well were not sell Kone and that he was unlucky with the injury ridden Anichebe

He has failed at absolutely everything else.

Anything else he's done well then?

Oh

My

God

Moyes is unlucky

I thought I had heard it all

Yes. That's exactly what I said. On both counts.
:lol::lol:

Haha Jesus wept
