Hated the Osmonds and my chavvy next door neighbour (called 'common' by my mother) was a Roller, so that was that.
The Osmonds were hideous. Jackson 5 were where it was at.

Some good Sweet stuff but most of their hits were written by Chinn and Chapman , not by themselves, unlike T.Rex where Bolan wrote all their stuff

The radio news says he is suffering from "multiple organ failure" which I am afraid doesn't sound very hopeful.
He wasn't my cup of tea and was certainly aimed at the younger end of the market which in the scheme of things must have been more of a burden than playing to an older audiences.

I can’t listen to any Bolan apart from the hits now. Most of it was folksy shite. Only Bowie has stood the test of time.
Their Natalie also plays the trumpet in Walford.....now stop it, there a bloke poorly here!

I didn't know Jack Cassidy was his dad though I can see the resemblance now .
its not so much standing the test of time. A lot of that material was crap at the time but was carried by the hits.

I agree. I used to like Marc Bolan for himself more than his music. I only really like Metal Guru, Slider and 20th Century Boy now.
Bowie is probably my favourite artist. He has, and will, stand the test of time.
