Saying on twitter in a conversation with Stephen Elliott that he accepts the criticism he sometimes gets off our fans on twitter as he would be exactly the same. Also saying actions speak louder than words and he is working on them

I for one am glad he is involved cause you know he wants what we all want. A successful Sunderland

He's the one person at board room level I trust.
Me too, although I feel for him because I think some don't know what a non exec role entails and think he'll be involved in every decision day to day. Equally when appointed he apologised for not replying "now and in the future" which blatantly meant he wasn't going to go down the Donald route of getting into twitter chats, but now he's getting tagged constantly. All I hope is that he feels he's being listened to and, if he isn't, I hope he walks which will tell us more than any tweet ever could.

He's been brought in as a media connected, high profile fan, basically. As you say, as a non exec, he has no direct involvement in decisions, he can only advise, and we've seen often enough recently what scientific advice does when economics are factored in.

I trust him to be trying the best he can to make a real difference and introduce tangible change.

It’s the rest though that will stop it and unfortunately for us and Dave Jones it’ll be like banging his head off a brick wall.

Aye, I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that he's been involved in transfer strategy before, so I'm hoping he'll at least push the obvious (go for young, hungry, pacy players). If they keep signing plodders then they aren't listening and he should walk. He won't be involved in whether to accept a bit for Mumba though, he's not the day to day and his role wouldn't warrant him being asked even if he was

We've got to hope for that...

Spoke to him at depth down at MK Dons earlier in the season.

Was a breath of fresh air. Clearly cares, wants thr best for the club, wasn’t afraid to agree about mistakes that the owners/club had made and talk about how he was in it for the long haul.

Easy to say he’s the only shining light at board level

I really think he should resign. He’s a smokescreen for Donald and his shite. How much influence is Jones really gonna have as a part time non executive director.
