Re: Graham

Guess with Swansea being a posession side, he had less legwork with the opposition in posession than he has to do here. Plus Swansea seem to be better than us at carving out good goalscoring opportunities.

Had he stayed at Swansea this season he'd probably have reached the 10 goal mark for the season. Maybe pushing 12.

Complete waste of a shirt and a wage, so out of his depth it's embarrassing. He was better today than last week, but that isn't saying a lot. Just wtf O'Neill was thinking about buying him ill never know.

I can see him being a bench warmer next season. He'll do a similar job that he did at Swansea. He's clearly not a player who can play a full 90 minutes, yeah he gives it a go but when he was doing well for Swansea he was playing, what, 20 minutes? Can see us buying 2 good forwards and he'll be on the bench

I hope so, I'd like better but the way some on here go on is ridiculous, blame O'Neill for paying the fee but to make him out to be the worst forward we have ever signed is laughable, he was streets better than Wickham today but he gets the abuse?

I know mate. He holds the ball up well and brings in players. Once we get the right players coming in I'm sure he'll be as good as he was at Swansea

Questions should be asked as just who recommended him? Was it the scouts, agent, MoN because anyone can see hes not a regular goal scorer..

WHY did we buy him when there were other players around who had a better scoring record? Rhodes, Austin as examples

Rhodes and Austin may be better players than him or even become them, but Graham scored goals quite frequently at Championship level too and did in his first Premiership season also. His record at Championship level mirrors Austin's and Rhodes would have cost twice the price.

No he isn't. He isn't fat. He is actually at the weight set for him and has lost a shitloads of weight since he joined.

His effort Craic is absolute bullshit. Absolutely grafts and makes good runs. Only the Southampton game was he dogshit. He will be a important squad player next year. He is also not on the booze.

He is a Geordie though so let's just ignore everything I have said.

He's slow, fat and shit.

I hope he is the first out of the door.

Agree with everything said here

Fat

Thought he done ok today. Was really poor against southampton. However may have something to do with the injury he picked up in the first half.

Benno thought PDC might take Granny Graham off after 25 minutes today
that spoilt the match for me in a way cos I became obsessed with that substitution happening. When it finally did I let out a big cheer

then Vaughan got sent off anyway and ruined in the stupid knacker

Re: Will Danny Graham ever score for Sunderland?

No - coz i think that might have been his last game. Looks disinterested & thats not something Di canio will tollorate.

Oh and Graham's a decent footballer. At this level though he's not got the pace, strength or mobility to cause defenders problems or create his own half chances. Because he's a decent 'footballer' it's probably why he done well at Swansea at this level, with pace around him and plenty of possesion football, here though he's a little bit pointless and should be a sub at best when everyones fit.

Re: Graham

I don't understand how he could go from being such a good goalscorer to where he is now.

Hoping a break, good pre-season and a slightly different approach with our tactics might help him.

Also needs some work on his fitness clearly
whole team needs fitness work like. Wickham looked exausted after half an hour.

Fair comment, if we play to his strengths he'd look much better. I think Fletcher in his last twelve games got one goal, and Danny had to put up with not having Sess for 3 games and also playing with ten men for a couple, it's hardly a mystery why he's not banging them in is it? All our decent attacks today had him at the heart of it, what more can he do ffs? (and don't say score )
