There are plenty of players available with prem experience for similar (or less) money. If you want one who scored more goals than Graham last season then you're struggling. However, that is manipulating the criteria to get the desired outcome. Odemwingie has a better overall premier league pedigree than Graham. He's also taller (which was a surprise to me) and quicker. No doubt he'd be available for a similar price.
We need to decide what we want here, though. Some on here want cover for Fletcher. Graham would be ideal for that on the face of it but he wants to move for first team football. In that case he looks much less ideal. He posesses neither pace or physicality to make him a good bet to dovetail well with Fletcher. Also he scored his goals last season playing as lone forward in a Swansea team that created more chances (I think) than SAFC. At the very least they created different types of chances. There is no guarantee that he will be able to replicate his goalscoring run at SAFC. Additionally, if one of the main motivators for moving back to the NE is to be nearer to friends and family, it is feasible there could be consequences in terms of his off the field behaviour.
Long and the short of it is that there are better options out there when everything is taken into account. If all MON wants is a body to put on the bench to the end of the season then he should be looking at the domestic loan system for the answer.
To be honest, i'm not that bothered either way about him signing. I agree there are probably better options out there, and probably a lot more abroad if we take a chance on them. I'd also question whether he would be cover for Fletcher or plan is to play him alongside Fletcher, in which case what happens to Sess?
I don't think Graham is a bad player from the little i've seen, and maybe that is all we can afford or attract in this window. If so it might work out, it might not but we need to give him a chance if that's what O'Neill wants - he has to be an improvement on Campbell and Saha
Lambert and Holt are both the wrong side of 30 and have played Premier League football for about 5 minutes. You can keep both of the IMO.
I don't get this mass hysteria about Graham either. Look at his career, it's rank average and lower division fodder. Look at him play, he doesn't really do anything exceptionally well, and Swansea (yes Swansea) are prepared to peddle him on the cheap.
His Magness will bring more shite with it, you can ignore it if you want but you're fooling yourself. As soon as he has a bad spell (and he will, for the above mentioned reasons of his rank averageness) then it will all come out. And if he has a stinker against them lot (which a lot of our players do a lot of the time) then he's finished.
Some people just won't acknowledge that his Magness (and all of the offending comments, perceived or otherwise) will be a factor. Very naive IMO.
And for holding this opinion I've been called all the names under the sun and told to fuck off and support someone else. Who's being childish?
I am over the moon fans like you will not be attending future gamesMy strongly worded email that I sent SAFC this morning, expressing my disgust at this PR disaster of a move should now be in the inbox of Louise Wanless.

Agreed. Pathetic from a grown adult. He slagged us all off who question a team selections and tactics, said we all hated MoN and tore into him. He is questioning his decision on a signing.
The irony is lost on him, he is that stupid.

Sent this to Louise Wanless this mornig.
Dear Louise
I post as rocky on www.readytogo.net/smb (I'm Catts biggest fan). There is a poster called Masterplank (supernova) who says he'll not go and watch Sunderland whilst Danny Graham is at the club. Please could you fix it for me and get Marty to sign him. Also if you could get Marty to say in public that its ok to sign a geordie I'd really appreciate it.
Fancy a bit neck on?
Love
Rocky
