Re: SSN bid made for Danny Graham

You are getting lost in the panic here mind, if MON chooses to sign him then fair enough surely? even if it is as a back up to our first choice of Sess and Fletcher?

Fair comment

so all this over a back up striker eh? what about his Premier League quality and stats (manipulated of course)

sensible option is to leave him well alone

safc will be no worse off for it

Re: SSN bid made for Danny Graham

Fair enough. I find that utterly ridiculous.

I'd encourage my son to sign for them given the chance.

Fair do, all about opinions.

Absolutely no chance I'd sign for them.

Re: SSN bid made for Danny Graham

:lol::lol:

Which includes cup competitions (where he's almost a goal a game) and the Championship season with Watford (better than 1 in 2).

His top flight record is 16 in 66, for Swansea only it's 15 in 52.

Overall in his career, where 80% of his goals have come outside the top flight, he is just short of 1 in 3.

Granted that includes sub appearances and it's only statistics, which never tell the full story, but it's hardly a line to go tub-thumping about.

He's a 27 year old average journeyman striker, who Swansea are prepared to sell for quite a low fee and replace with Big Kenny Jones (who we know all about) who comes with additional baggage.

The likes of Lambert and Holt have shown that that's no barrier to scoring in the PL. I'd take Lambert, certainly, in a shot.

I don't really get this mass hysteria about Graham as a player (his magness, you can predict the reaction, and the most likely culprits on here too, but it doesn't bother me).

When we appointed MON one of the things commonly trotted out on here was that at last we have a manager who can build a team that's sum is greater than its total parts. If MON feels Graham is someone who can add to the team, then I'm happy to trust him on that, given he's a proven top class manager n' that.

says it all

exactly what im talking about

happier to pick points over fellow supporters than state the obvious.

Not in the slightest, it's just highly entertaining.

Anyway, put your pitch fork down and answer my points.

all this bed wetting man, people need to give their heads a shake.

Its MON and the clubs choice who they sign, they run the club, they are the best qualified to decide if a player would add benefit to our team.

I would also marra...

If your kid has a chance of making it as a professional footballer it would be your duty as a parent to encourage him to sign for them, no matter how much you hate you them...

Obviously, I'd ensure I keep him on the red and white straight and narrow for the rest of my life...

I've never got this argument like.

It's almost suggesting that we lack the ability to have a debate about the pros and cons about signing a player because the management never, ever make mistakes in the transfer market.

Which is nonsense.

Re: SSN bid made for Danny Graham

So would I mate. But if I was already a premier league footballer on good wages, I wouldn't sign for them.

The thing is though if you were a premiership footballer you wouldn;t have as strong feelings for Sunderland as you do now. You don't know if you'd sign for them or not.

It's not a debate though is it mate? It's a bunch of WUMs using every single cliche in the book to suit an agenda.

Lambert and Holt are both the wrong side of 30 and have played Premier League football for about 5 minutes. You can keep both of the IMO.

I don't get this mass hysteria about Graham either. Look at his career, it's rank average and lower division fodder. Look at him play, he doesn't really do anything exceptionally well, and Swansea (yes Swansea) are prepared to peddle him on the cheap.

His Magness will bring more shite with it, you can ignore it if you want but you're fooling yourself. As soon as he has a bad spell (and he will, for the above mentioned reasons of his rank averageness) then it will all come out. And if he has a stinker against them lot (which a lot of our players do a lot of the time) then he's finished.

Some people just won't acknowledge that his Magness (and all of the offending comments, perceived or otherwise) will be a factor. Very naive IMO.

And for holding this opinion I've been called all the names under the sun and told to fuck off and support someone else. Who's being childish?

Bridge
The Greek
Saha

...these are proof enough debate is always healthy.

I'm not happy about what he said but I will happily be a fickle twat if he scores the winner at the sports direct

Yes it will, pathetic isn't it?

MON sees what the team needs far more closely than we can - and he knows what he's trying to build. He also knows how players will react and respond far better than we ever will.

Of course all managers make mistakes, that's without question. However I would rather trust MON's judgement than that of the majority of people on here.

If MON checked his signings with RTG he'd never make one. If he went with the majority he'd never have signed Fletcher or Rose this summer.

Everyone has an opinion on most players, however MON's opinion is far more informed than any of ours will ever be.

Except when he picks Bardsley, that gets overlooked on here

Re: SSN bid made for Danny Graham

So Fuck he loves the mags...

Our hate filled fans really do my f***ing head in... Giving a player shit, before he has even signed....

WTF!

As for what he said.... in the north east we give each other shit every day saying similar, if not worse things. It's just banter though FFS so get the fuck over it...!

If it ends up going the same way as Lee Clark and Chopra then more fool him... As for myself I'll never boo him and support him as long as he wears Red and White stripes...
