Danny Graham on O’Neil & Di Canio

I know it’s been said already but that interview was done before he joined us. At the end the interviewer asks him what he’s going to do next etc

Obviously doesn’t paint a good picture of him mind and adds to the rotten core rumours

& PDC got sacked because he wanted to change things

Even our board was gutless they should've sacked the players

Plenty of evidence

I’m on dodgy ground here , because a few of these were proper alcoholics , but when you hear tales of Merson, Moore, Adams, Best , Robson etc and their drinking they still performed at the highest levels . When the players are shite, it’s incredible.
I suppose we were daft enough to employ them and pay them. Hence our reputation for being a soft touch and the old easy final contract . Some of those final contracts went on longer than others of course , ffs .

The thing is, not one of the players you’ve mentioned would have had the career they had in this era unless they’d knocked it on the head. Football has changed drastically since then. All those players no doubt had the ability to be at the top and physically at the time it was fine but if they played now and kept to their same habits they’d be a lot worse off.

it's the sort of craic you'd think a footballer would be ashamed of when they're still turning out for a professional club. here he is reminiscing about being pissed out of his skull with 2 hours until training. I was one of those that thought he might turn good at this level, but I think based on what we've seen already it was what many pointed out as a disgusting signing.

If everyone’s on the lash then the lashed up cream will rise to the top. If no ones on the lash then the professional cream will rise to the top. If some are on it and some arent then the professional cream will rise to the top and lashed up cream will only get so far......until they sort themselves out.
Anyone know if Sainsbury’s have strawberries in atm?
Who has ketchup with pasta anyway?
The ketchup was just a press headline for comedy purposes. They could’ve had ketchup at home, even hid it under the floorboards in case PDC launched a 3AM ketchup raid on players houses.

so hes a prick because he was pissed and didnt talk to strangers
I watched Graham and his mate knocking cigarette/cigar ash onto a homeless person through the gate at livello pissing themselves laughing. The whole lot of those c.unts were in there all the time and they are the lowest if the low. Brown was part of that group, a big part.

He was far too extreme to manage premier league players but he rightly was astonished at the state and lifestyle choices made by our ‘elite athletes’.
He seemed to have some good ideas but was too ‘off the map’ to carry them out.
He’d be perfect for a rebuilding job guiding a younger generation into heads down arse up, running through brick walls culture that needed

Whenever Paolo is mentioned on here ,the usual suspects trot out their mocking 'he had them sussed' and they are sure he was 'mad'.It is pretty clear now that he did indeed have them sussed, not that this was difficult as the squad was patently unfit, unwilling to learn, with poor social and dietary habits. If it is 'mad' to try to rectify these weaknesses then so be it, but surely it was correct to make them fitter, better footballers and more worthy of their high wages. Of course our lovely squad decided to whinge to the high-ups to ensure the manager was sacked and their cosy little lifestyle could resume. It was a disgrace really and Danny boy provides hard evidence of the shambles that pertained at SAFC at that time.

What a f***ing shambles. Could you imagine any premier league team from the last 20 years going on like that?

It confirms what I expected and that's O'Neill is a massive part of our demise and the following mismanagement just solidified it

The mocking is because he was an abysmal manager. His tactics were pathetic - 424 against Arsenal with David Vaughan in midfield. An insistence on playing wingers on their opposites side which meant McClean - one of the most one footed players we've ever had - on the right and Larsson on the left, who'd played central midfield all season and was never that kind of winger. Everyone could see there were issues in the squad and a big drinking culture and he was right to address them, but we also had some good professionals who cared about the club and he treat them all like shit and introduced bullshit rules, like the players weren't allowed to speak to the ground staff on match days yet he made a point of shaking their hands instead. He claimed he had control of transfers but then denied it when they turned out to be shit, except the ones that did well he took the credit for.

But all of that is ignored by his fan club and the same line trotted out that he had them sussed as if that was all that mattered.

Di Canio cared so much about SAFC he waited til the week of the cup final before giving his first interview shit stirring saying O'Shea had slagged all the players off behind their backs. You can't tell me that wasn't deliberately planned to disrupt us before the final.

Anyway, it's the managers job to get the best out the players short, medium and long term. He completely failed. Poyet managed to get a tune out of them.
