Danny Drinkwater

Would feel like one of those "He'll do a job for us" signings, when I really think we need someone of quality in that position who's going to be a starter, not another squad player.

I'd take him if we were going to also get someone else in, but I'm not sure on him tbh.

I think it was generally held that Evans was our best player on Saturday and if he plays like that for the rest of the season we will be happy. If we lose him to injury which is likely,we are in trouble. Drinkwater, who I keep saying played 32 times in the Championship last year, would be a good replacement. The other option is Matete who looks a risk at the moment.

Quite comfortably championship standard

Evans had a great game on Saturday like, not sure if he can keep that up twice a week so maybe him and Drinkwater could rotate? but I've never really seen why he's been highly rated or went for the money he has when it was clear as day that Kante ran that CM for Leicester.

Like I said, I'm not totally against bringing him in if we can also bring someone in who's a lot more dynamic.

Top, middle or bottom standard tho?

Don't shoot the messenger but I hear this is being looked at. Would add some much needed experience to our midfield and he is a former PL winner.

Apparently he gets on really well with Danny Batth. When they get together they call them "The Two Danny's" or "Danny Drink-Bath-Water"

Didn't play much at Chelsea so plenty of miles in those legs yet.
Danny Drinkwine sounds better to me…lol

Tin hat on but I don't even think he looked particularly good when Leicester won the league  that being said, we are short in that area, particularly with O'Nien now playing CB. It does seem Neil does not fancy Matete at all at the minute.

I couldn't believe it when Chelsea payed all that money for him. I still can't!

He was excellent for Leicester and got England caps. He probably wasn't quite England standard but probably a bit of a step up on Evans. He would be a risk but the same was true of Pritchard and is really true of any signing.

Will be a very good signing if his head is right (big if given some of his baggage). Has a Premier League winners medal and was just as important as Kante in that Leicester team (sum of the parts I think). I think both transferred to Chelsea at the same time (Drinkwater for £35 million), but he did not get much of a look in after he went.
