Danny Batth on way out? (squad depth discussion)

Does anybody else feel this is now probable?

In Wright, Ballard and Alese we have three natural CBs, we also have O’Nien and Winnie who can play there. Good defences are built on strong partnerships but unless we‘re going with three CBs I’m not convinced we could rotate those four (Batth, Wright, Ballard and Alese) and balance player satisfaction with a strong defensive partnership.

Anyone expecting us to go with a back 5 this season?

Would be a Sunderland of old thing to do for sure , but we seem to have our head screwed on recently.

A know Wright can , but does anyone know of any of the new lads cover Fullback?

No, Batth isn’t going anywhere at the moment imo.

Doubt it this season, possibly next. We have four centre halves. The last two seasons despite having at least four to choose from we’ve also had to draft in midfielders and fullbacks to cover.
There’s absolutely no way we got in to the season with less than four and Batth has huge experience of the championship.

I don’t think so. Xhemjla (spelling) and Doyle have left, Alese and Ballard have replaced them.

Keeping all four happy will be a challenge, Xhemajli barely played even when he was fit, Doyle frozen out for most of the run-in. If we go with a back four and the two first choice stay fit, the other two are looking at cup games and dregs.
