Dan Neil

Up to the start of this season my grandad has never rated him but his performances this season have even won him round and rightly so.

We actually discussed it tonight and we both agree that he’s had to raise his game from last season due to the increased competition from Bellingham, Ekwah, etc.

No longer is anyone guaranteed their place and it’s great to see!

HWTL!!! 😎😎😎

Said earlier I haven't been so proud of one of our young players since Toddy's time.
He's 21, 100 and odd times he's already worn the shirt and for me at this rate of progress he'll be approaching upper PL level within another year.
I just hope he can be with us for the next 5 or 6..
Don't get me wrong, Clarke, Ballard, Hume and Cirkin, Patto and Ba all have fabulous futures but as the play-maker, the beating heart of the team he is the kiddy.
What a time to be alive!
We've waited such a long time for someone like him.

I know it’s the first few games so some stats will settle down after a few games, but…

Giz a look at his defensive stats.
How the Pritchites have to attempt to highjack every thread. Your lad was good and earned his pay for the second game in a row but to suggest he was better than Neil/Clarke/Ballard is utter wank. Expect a bit better from you mate.
 "The Pritchites".

Eric Cantona once criticised his French international teammate, Didier Deschamps, as being ‘the water carrier’, suggesting that Deschamps didn’t really compare with their midfield colleagues, Viera, Pires, Ginola, etc.

However, Deschamps pointed out that every team needs a player who is capable of just keeping things ticking over, doing the unspectacular stuff, providing leadership, etc.

Deschamps led France in winning the World Cup in 1998 and European Championship in 2000. The undoubtedly more individually brilliant didn’t.

Dan Neil can be our Deschamps, enabling the likes of Ekwah, Clarke and Roberts to optimise their skills, often unspectacularly.
If he’s half the player Deschamps was he’ll do for me 👍

Where did I say he was better than Ballard or Clarke? And I don’t think Pritchard is brilliant but last two games he’s been very good, my worry is that against better team the Neil and Pritchard dynamic won’t work but we’ll see, both good tonight but Pritchard different class

Quietly brilliant again today. Most completed passes, 94% pass completion. Gets about the pitch, gets stuck in and always looks for the right pass.

111 career appearances for the lads at 21. The kids only gonna get better.
There’s a reason he’s being watched by top clubs.
