Dan Neil

Has talent, does some things well and other things not very well. I don’t think he or Michut played particularly well today at all. Their midfield was better than ours.

In the first half, we were too passive. There was no urgency or willingness to be anything other than risk averse with the ball. I thought Michut actually tried to affect it more by passing and moving whereas Neil was happy to knock it and watch. Their running off the ball was also questionable, particularly Neil’s for their goal.

Second half, we didn’t get to grips with the middle. Bacuna was quite dominant in the middle and neither Neil nor Michut took any sort of control. Michut was worse in the second half and was justifiably taken off. Neil finished the game stronger without him alongside.

The pair of them could hugely benefit from a genuinely quality second division player alongside them. One even better than Evans.

All down to the formation that he got wrong today. They packed the middle and we had no answers.

Soon as he changed to a back 4 we cut them apart.

That's the priority signing in the Summer for me if were to only get one player to improve the XI, someone in the mould of Palhinha at Fulham to sit in front of the defence.

Dwight Yorke was superb for us in that role under Keane

I’d not go quite as far as cut them apart. We still struggled to have control in the middle (obviously the Cirkin red didn’t help matters) and without some sheer magic from Clarke and Amad we come away from that game disappointed we didn’t do more to take that game by the scruff of the neck.

I thought we dominated instantly from the subs until the red. Roberts broke through 1 on 1 about 2 minutes after the subs.

Roberts chance aside, I can’t remember much else we did (maybe a cross for Clarke that he headed to Ruddy though that may have been pre subs).

We were certainly better after the subs. No disputing that mind

Good young player forced into playing a role he's not 100 percent suited to because of thin squad and injuries.

Will do him good long term

People are watching a different game to me ,but everyone is entitled to there opinion, sideways and backwards to much for me and not aggressive enough in the tackle for a midfielder just my opinion.
He wins the ball back plenty. More than most midfielders in the division... he was top 6 for tackles a few months ago.
