A system set up to fail.

The manager knows he is, at best, 2 bad months away from the sack.

Manager tailors club accordingly towards the next 2 months.

Tailoring the club towards the next 2 months brings shit consequences.

Eventually, it always catches up with the manager.

Rinse and repeat.

“As a young player, you don't get the chance in football to feel your way in. You've got to take your chance and make an impact when you come to train with the first team."

This is backwards, isn't it?

Why wouldn't you as a young player get the chance to "feel" your way in?

Are they expected at 18 to instantly improve the first team?

Jesus, the bloke is an absolute dinosaur isn't he?

I’d start him off the right in place of Gooch and I’d play Gooch right wing back over O’Nien. We should be looking to be more attacking and Gooch can play there

Limited opposition or not you can tell that this lad is a very good player. The weight on that ball to Grigg today was absolutely perfect. We played 2 chance creating balls from centre midfield all game and they were both from him in the 15 minutes he was on.
Not sure on his contract situation but that needs amended NOW. If we languish in this league for any longer this lad won’t be with us much longer. I’d have absolutely no problem with him starting next week.

Kid with no game time or not, I'd be attempting to build the team around him as it stands. A player with vision who makes things happen, something we've lacked in CM for ever it feels. He might fall flat on his face but give a prospect a chance for once SAFC.

So hard to get excited about him when you know we have a manager who won't start him regardless, same as Diamond. Both have been brill but the Parky effect will see 'established' players start every time.

I don't think theres anything wrong with what Parkinson has said at all. Neil is in to make a difference and I think we can see already that he can. Our supporters (all supporters) arent particularly patient and tolerant with young players if they aren't good enough. Even Henderson used to get hammered from some and he was good enough.

According to Cole, the lad we sold to Leeds, Daniel Neil and Cole (Kiernan) were all given one year deals with the word that the academy would be significantly invested in. Then all three had bids accepted within a week of signing and all other academy players were released, and each of the three basically forced out. Neil deal fell through, other two obviously left - Cole to boro and the other lad to Leeds. Doesn’t sound good for the lads future here tbh.
