Cyclists- opinion please

Are the seats really that uncomfortable ?

No....well it depends but you get used to it
They don’t come with pedals because they are then classed as custom built, all new bikes other than custom built ones need to come fitted with a bell under some EU law, this circumvents that. Another good reason for brexit.

He would only need to buy a mountain bike if he is a fattie who needs the extra support

Fair point...most mountain bikers are fat fuckers and have just William type shorts and f***ing rucksacks.

Look ridiculous

You're getting 105 groupset on a bike for that price is very good value - the new 105s are excellent. I've got 105s on my winter bike and there's little noticeable difference between that and my other bike which has the much more expensive Ultegra groupset. Wheels and tyres are good for that price too imo.

For extra 200 Euros or whatever that is miles better spec as well as finishing kit

What I did..buy second hand £150-200 at that sort of spec..then work out what you want to do.
My journey started on a Triban 3 for £90, upgraded to a specialised Tricross for £120..then to clip in pedals..then ended up with 2 carbon bikes, one a rose road bike @6.6kg and and a gravel bike for around £1500 each.

In my view, buy s cobd hand and if the bug hits you, spend the £600-800 on something decent later. As others have said, you are probs. just paying for the Trek brand.

Has that been reduced in price at all?

In the next couple of weeks next years models should start coming out and this years will be reduced.

I got £600 off my bike a couple of years back.
