Connor has always been full of potential but has rarely delivered. If he know goes and delivers at Palace we will have lost out. I would rather Graham or Fletcher have left....bit it seems oat angers have a similar opinion of them as we do.

Potential is a word typically applied to a player who has failed to actually achieve anything.

Whenever I've heard our Connor being interviewed etc. he sounds like he isn't as thick as he looks. But then you see his decisions on the football pitch and it just screams 'moron'

Won't be missed imo lads, let's just hope Dick reinvests well. Think it will be a surprise name we haven't heard being linked tbh.

That is true though.

As for the second part, it wasn't that he couldn't displace the other centre forwards - he was needed there on the left. There was no one else. I always remember Keane talking about Chopra when we used to employ him on the right, and he described him as being a "victim of his own success". It was a case of needs must that he played there. If we had signed Borini last summer, Wickham would have been our centre forward.

I totally agree, if he'd been given the last two seasons purely as a centre forward we might have a different player on our hands now as there's obviously a very good player in there somewhere. Although if that happened he'd be off to Liverpool this window I'd bet!

But we can speculate and revise history as much as we want. The fact is we haven't gotten the best out of him and there's no sign of us getting the best out of him. If this frees up wages to get someone in who can do a better job then this is all fine by me. As much as I like him and have wanted him to do well his entire time at the club.

Very good signing. Young, plenty of potential to develop further and on his day, an absolute beast. When he's good, he's very, very good. He's played in an awful side that has employed often negative tactics due to always being in a relegation battle, that has little creativity and even less confidence...about the worst set up he could have had at the development stage of his career. He's have been better to stay at Ipswich a couple of years longer.

May have mixed them up but I tell you this post ain't too fAr off the mark!!!

Sozz marra, I'm neither a big fan of his nor a hater, but I struggle to remember a time when I've seen him as "very, very good". You might be able to make a case for the last few games of the 2013-14 season when he strapped on his scoring boots and largely contributed to keeping us up, but the past season I rarely if ever saw him play with that level of confidence. He hasn't had much service and he's been played out of position (why do we continue to try to play strikers in the wing? We don't shoehorn players from other positions like this!), but there were several times he went on runs and looked like he was running through treacle, usually ending up losing possession around the edge of the box and strolling back with a complaint to the ref and a look on his face like he was hard done by.

We may have bolloxed up his development, or maybe he just wasn't that good. A new start at a new club may be good for him. We made our fee back. Good luck to him. (Just don't score against us you big plank!)

Who originally announces his presence on here prior to last seasons home game v Leicester by offering to fist fight one of our own in a Sunderland city centre South African chicken shack.
Weird fucker I'd say.

Same daft cunts who think they struck gold when they appointed Pardew in January. They'll get what coming to them soon enough.

They're reaching Pardew levels of delusion.

they are spot on. A front 3 of Zaha/Bolassie/Wickham is very very good. Why you people default is to slag other clubs off is beyond curious, maybe even approaching sinister.

Bit like the way you hang around this messageboard hoping for something to snipe at.

Sad fuck.
