2011-2015 is four seasons. A mistake on my part but I can safely say that the point still stands. The fact that he was regularly either sent out on loan or left on the bench/out of the squad speaks volumes as well, particularly as we have consistently been a low scoring team throughout that period.

Even based on the appearances alone, his record is appalling. Add that to the fact that he couldn't control a medicine ball and you can see why this is incredible business.
That's just utter tripe though and you know it is.

Are you watching the fees being paid for dogshit players?

Come back and quote this to me at the end of next season, I will happily agree with you if you are corrrect, and the lad is shit for them.
No I won't. My judgement is based on what he's done for us. People still talking about his potential is bullshit. He's not a kid any more and he should have really stepped up this season. But he didn't.

It's definitely not like - he is a piss poor technical footballer who would already be at his level if he hadn't made a good name for himself as a bairn at Ipswich. He will get by for another couple of years on the back of his mythical "potential" and "physical attributes" (yes he's a big unit, but he is soft as shite).

Bollocks. He's 22 year old man.

Michael Bridges left here at about the same age, with 79 appearances, and 16 goals - mostly in the second tier. We were all up in arms over that.

Completely different situations man Chris. And you know it. There was a feeling that Bridges was going to be really special and he'd been showing that type of form since he was 17 albeit at a lower level.

There was also the affinity of him being local lad as well and of him perhaps not getting the same opportunities as others.

I certainly felt a hell of a lot worse when Bridges left than when I found out yesterday about Wickham. I'm honestly pleased he's went - I just hope it doesn't stop there.

Let's face it. He's full of potential. Has only shown a glimpse of realising that. He will likely do it there. But for us... Right now... It's a good deal to free up wages and recoup more than we paid for him.

Will go one of two ways. Class or he will end up hanging out the back of one of the Only Way is Essex crew with big Andy Carrol cruising along on his wages.
This. We'll only find out if it's a good deal in the next few years.
Personally, id prefer to get shot of any of our other strikers before him.

The worst thing about Bridges was seeing how well he was doing at Leeds. I just have a feeling this Wickham deal will come back to haunt us.

EXACTLY. That right there is the nail hit squarely on the head.

Then I will end my discussion by summarising

The lad has much more ability than we have got out of him here, don't know why.

We have failed to use him wisely

Selling him for a better option is correct

Selling him for a sub market rate is stupid, but typical

He will become a very effective premier leaugue player, and will in his first season for palace socre more than in any of his seasons here.

That's it, sell for the right price, move on, and learn, square pegs fit square holes.

I absolutely don't agree with you about his ability like. But fair enough, at least you've got a genuine opinion.

Agree on the bit about square pegs and square holes. Hopefully this will be addressed in the next few weeks.

I am also a bit sick of people blaming the way he has been managed, the fact he has been sent out on loan and has had to work under so many mangers. There doesn't seem to be any mention of the responsibility Wickham needs to take for himself.

Agree mate. It was awful although I still felt shit when he did his career early though.

And I hope we get shot of Fletcher and Graham. All three have shown they can't score regularly for us so they can all fuck off for me.

I tell you what Pardew has shown he can polish a turd and get the best out of it with some of the shite he had when he was up the road. I reckon if anyone can correct young Connor's attitude it will be him. He will do alright there I reckon.

With only a few weeks left to go I very much doubt it. We'll find ourselves hard pressed to bring in one decent striker, never mind two or three.

Wickham going more or less confirms it for me that we'll be stuck with those two. And what we'll see happen then is Fletch wind down his contract and bugger off for nowt - probably to somewhere like Celtic.

Wickham is a heavyweight with the power and presence of a lightweight. He has an abundance of talent with no real desire to make anything of it. He is this generation's James Scowcroft.

Good luck to him as he hasn't really caused any bother here....I am disappointed that he hasn't fulfilled any of his potential and I'm extremely grateful to Crystal Palace for taking him off our hands

Just been reading it. You'd think they were Real Madrid the way some of them are going on.

Aye he may come good and they seem to think his use as a winger means he hasn't had a proper chance as a centre forward. Have they not thought that maybe the fact he couldn't displace the rest of our shite forwards means he just isn't that good?
The sad thing about your statement is we haven't had a player good enough to displace Wickham on the wing.
