Very good signing. Young, plenty of potential to develop further and on his day, an absolute beast. When he's good, he's very, very good. He's played in an awful side that has employed often negative tactics due to always being in a relegation battle, that has little creativity and even less confidence...about the worst set up he could have had at the development stage of his career. He's have been better to stay at Ipswich a couple of years longer.

May have mixed them up but I tell you this post ain't too fAr off the mark!!!

Oh dear.
Give me a couple of pints of what you've been drinking
" an absolute beast " Jesus even at my age I'd just push him over

Forced optimism it looks like to me.

'Oh, we're signing this lad? Bags of potential, only 22, canny signing actually'

He's f***ing wank like. Robbed of nine million.

When has he ever been an absolute beast? He looks like he should be but he's in the Daryl Murphy league of aggression man.

I'm actually happy that he is going.
I do think that we have not progressed his career.
He played left hand side last year. Would anyone on this board think that this was his position or a needs must approach?

He has some of the attributes a good striker needs, however he is lazy, deceptively weak, nowhere near as clinical as he should be and simply doesn't cause defenders many problems. He scored 4 or 5 goals for us last season and I remember 1 vs City was hit off him into the net, 1 was a tap in from 3 yards against Stoke away and the others were simple finishes from about 10 yards away that strikers in this league should make. They are paying the money for his potential which for us I think he has shown little to no signs of reaching, as he looks as if he thinks he has already made it when he has a long way to go yet.

i said before, IF connor learns to use his size rather than looking like a scared rabbit or falling over too easy then he would be a useful player, even when playing the left side...his problem seems to be that he did ok when on loan in the championship so tries to play the same way in the premier and that will never work against the top defenders.
good luck to him, the change may be just what he needs with a different style of play...not his fault he came here with a massive reputation.

I thought the lazy myth got convincingly put to bed last season? You can criticise his talent all you want but he definitely isn't lazy. Poor posts that include that imo.

"Wickham is young, hungry and talented"

"Put him in a Palace shirt with the Holmesdale behind him and Cabaye, Puncheon, Wilf, Yala et al supplying him and mark my words, it'll be a different story. If Wickham fulfils even 75% of his potential, his value could easily double by next summer."

:lol::lol::lol: Poor Bassas. Fkin creased here.
The London nightclubs will get the better of him bookmark it.....

I'm sorry but I honestly can't remember coming away from a match in the years he's been here and uttered the words "Connor Wickham was very, very good today."

Let's face it. He's full of potential. Has only shown a glimpse of realising that. He will likely do it there. But for us... Right now... It's a good deal to free up wages and recoup more than we paid for him.

Will go one of two ways. Class or he will end up hanging out the back of one of the Only Way is Essex crew with big Andy Carrol cruising along on his wages.

they are spot on. A front 3 of Zaha/Bolassie/Wickham is very very good. Why you people default is to slag other clubs off is beyond curious, maybe even approaching sinister.

How has he turned in to Ronaldinho overnight? He offers little & shall barely be missed.

Seriously, I'd rather have had Daryl Murphy up front for us than Wickham.

It's OK you don't have the onset of Alzheimer's , it never happened.
