Made a big decision for the weekend. Got a second fridge full of shit beer, lost lager & daft ipas people have left when they’ve been. The idea is I leave them for when people come over. I’ve got nee mates, nobody ever comes over, so I’m taking all the shit out if date stuff down to Stone Valley. Might take one or two good ones to have in reserve in case it gets desperate

Been drinking various Nørrebro Bryghus beers and an IPA aptly named Ruination in the meatpacking district over the weekend. Expensive and very, very nice indeed.

I find Lost genuinely undrinkable. Haven't had a Red Stripe in years.
I rarely drink lager. Abroad, or at a gig where a can of red stripe is better than chancing whatever shit they have on tap. I don’t mind it.

Lost Lager. Fuck me. Lager flavoured water. Properly shite. Think I’ll have to bash another few in tomorrow as well. The only redemption I’ll give it. It’s out of date.

I had a Madri when I was in London this week. Was utter shite. It was the best of a bad choice, but ticked a place off the list I wanted to go

It's shit in date too! I've got back into lager recently; obviously lots of shite examples but it's often a safer bet than the mainstream pales in pubs.

I don't mind Madri that much. Had a Grolsch the other week for the first time in at least a decade and would've poured it away if I hadn't paid 8 quid for it.
The bairn is a proper tube gonk, so we ended up in Whitechapel, two birds with one stone so went to the blind beggar. Was even shown the “genuine” bullet holes in the ceiling 😂
Decent beer garden, shit beer. Often meet there before a trip to Tayaabs.

Next couple of days I'm going to sample this brewery/taproom

And this micro pub (supposed to have a great beer shop attached too)

Tapps is amazing…it didn’t have a bottle shop attached when I went the back end of last year but their can fridge is insanely cheap.

I’ve gotten back into lager in the last year or so, absolutely love a good quality one. Quite a few good ones available as well (Lost & Grounded, Donzoko and Braybrooke among others) although typically not in mainstream pubs unfortunately.

Beer was rubbish. Mind the bairn was chuffed cos she had a ride on the Lizzie line

Aye, it was really good. Only gripe being it was almost entirely pales. Just one stout on (12% mind). Loaded up on a few cans too.

Ive also just discovered Twisted Wheel. Plenty of their stuff on in loads of pubs. Plonked my bum down for a couple one night and discovered Technicolour. (Cracking session drink that IMO). Then started noticing TW stuff in more pubs so got amongst a few different offerings, of which none I found to be bad (that also included a lager).

Most of my mates are lager suppers (mainstream gear) and rave about Madri. Have had it occasionally and honestly don't see the fuss. Of all the standard stuff on tap in pubs I still prefer Heineken.

Gorgeous looking pub. Surprised theyve got nothing decent on.

I went to Marsden Grotto because I wanted to visit the pub. Ended up with Moretti.

Braybrooke are very good. Not got the hype around Lost and Grounded. My brother said there is no lager he would enjoy. Got him to try a braybrooke and he actually liked it!
