Remember to take a deep breath regularly no matter how much pain there is. I just got used to it.

You have a few days of discomfort to go. Lovely when the pain starts to go though.

You have my sympathies mate. I've had some broken bones in my 70 years, ankle, wrist, sneb, but by far the worst pain was a cracked rib. Strap it, and put up with the agony unfortunately !

You're advised against strapping broken ribs these days. Deep breathing prevents fluid accumulating in the lungs.

Took weeks and weeks each time to get back 100% and I'm not sure they were even cracked.
Last time was an elbow off someone in the SMB charity match.

Cracked my ribs on 2 separate occasions, both off football!

In my experience, it can take 6 months before you entirely forget it. Years later, you will get 'memory' twinges.

It was about 6 weeks before you don't get stabbing pains, twinges that aren't bad for months. You have my sympathy, it's shit.

Oh right,! it was the '60's when I did mine doing the high jump at school. That was the treatment in those days. Must stay abreast !

Our mutual friend bust some ribs falling down a pub cellar in Berlin years ago. Was in agony.

Was fairly funny watching him try to tie his shoelaces.
