Get the economy firing again and plough the money we are currently spunking up the wall on helping the vulnerable to shield

Nothing is being spent on shielding now. SSP/ESA was stopped at the end of July, along with food parcels and other additional help.

That's exactly what I'm saying, if the economy is working people are paying tax so we can target spending money where it has most effect. Helping the vulnerable and resourcing the NHS to deal with high rates of severe covid.

I'm not saying everyone should go back to normal, I'd mandate face masks and hand sanitiser on entry to public places. But the best tool we have to fight the virus is our ability to fund the care of those most affected. Locking everyone up and shacking the economy has us on the road to ruin.
