Coventry City eviction notice

I have no idea what he'll do but if there’s property to be had on the cheap and a money making opportunity is there then yes, the stadium would go.
Sounds like Coventry city council have really dropped a bollock here mind. I’m sure they said they’re selling to people who only have the best interests of the football club going forward etc. Not that Ashley will give a toss mind.

Depends if he owns the freehold. If he doesn't he won't be able to knock it down.
I know I may be talking above my station.
Its the city that own the stadium or did they sell to Wasps and then Wasps couldn’t afford it? This was a cash raising scheme that has backfired massively.
The city need tax ratables. They may have made a mistake by getting into the stadium owning business and want out. City can’t pay taxes to itself.
I also have no dog in this fight and don’t like to see supporters shut out due to greed.

Very strange how happy this seems to be making people on here

I'm not happy. It's comical though because they have had years to sort the shit show of not having a ground. And they simply haven't bothered. It's bit them on the arse

Will the FA actually do something about this shit show now?

They’ve played more game outside of the City of Coventry than inside these past few years. It’s an absolute joke.
A difficult one for the FA (well the Football League). They largely have two interests. The first is to make sure every club is a going concern and that football can be played to entertain the fans. The second is to make sure that is done in a way that is within certain rules. They don't want to see any club go out of business. Punish Coventry too hard and it could go. Let them be and it makes a mockery of their own rules.

A good few clubs now have seen how a few years of crackpot owners can threaten 100+ years of history. I have some sympathy and the EFL will to, but standards must be maintained.
Not without a stadium they won't
A repeat of 1990 on the cards?

Sunderland vs Coventry playoff final. Sunderland narrowly get beat but Coventry denied promotion because they are stuck without a stadium. Congratulations Sunderland.

250 year leasehold with the local council having the freehold-

Frasers Group takes over lease of Coventry FC’s home ground CBS Arena (Welwyn Hatfield Times)

"The group of companies operates from the Coventry Building Society Arena, the freehold of which is owned by Coventry City Council, the court was told.

ACL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wasps Holdings Limited, which went administration last month, leading to the English rugby club’s entire playing and coaching staff being made redundant.

AC06, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACL, holds a 250-year lease of the arena, which it subleases to ACL, which in turn subleases part of the stadium to Coventry City and other tenants and receives revenue from naming rights."

Edit- No idea about CCFC terms with ACL
