Yes but Greater Manchester and Greater London are not counties. In London you have the City of London, London and greater London. London is not in Essexis Manchester not part of Greater Manchester?

Yes but Greater Manchester and Greater London are not counties. In London you have the City of London, London and greater London. London is not in Essex, nor any other county, though some London Borough towns are part of counties eg Bromley is part of The London Borough of Bromley (Greater London), but Bromley is in Kent; but some of the London Borough of Bromley falls into London ie not Kent. Ditto Croydon, but Croydon is in Surrey.
I remember Manchester Lancs. but I didn't want to confuse the issue. London has never been in a county. I didn't realise those towns you've named were Greater Manchester though, four I would have guessed Lancashire and Wigan I thought was in Cumbria, but I don't really know that part of the world that well at all.Greater Manchester is one of those new post '74 counties (which Bolton, Wigan, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham are all part of), like T&W and Cleveland, prior to '74 Manchester was in Lancs
Durham is no doubt on the side of the Wear however Durham does not make up the whole of County Durham, Durham is merely the City which the County is named after.
I am afraid Sunderland is in Tyne and Wear along with Newcastle.
Indeed, canny list ain't it mate, nice to see our County win something for once despite not having a premiership side in it.
That depends Mr Everton, both Merseyside and Manchester will include parts of old Cheshire, such as Birkinhead, Sale, Stockport etc..So is the jist of this that Lancashire wins then?
Merseyside + G Manc + the rest...
You cannot change anyone's place of birth. I was born in Jarrow, County Durham
You can't take that away from me cos some politician decided to re jig the borders
Very interesting mate. Amazing anount of players for such a small village. I was discussing football and Whitburn with my neighbour yesterday, funnily enough. I saw an old map of the village, and there was a pitch next to the cemetery. He said this was eventually swallowed up by a cemetery extension, and the rest is allotments.
And you can't even get the name of the county right.
It's not the county of Durham it's "County Durham" the only county with the word "County" in its name.
Oh, and I was born in Sunderland, County Durham. And proud of both.
So is the jist of this that Lancashire wins then?
Merseyside + G Manc + the rest...
