There is a pub near me, they quite regularly get bad reviews. The owner always writes back, he thanks the good ones but pretty much bar's the bad ones and tells them they are full of shit and he's right, it's pretty cringe worthy. Someone commented the other day about how bad a time they had and posted that if anyone has any complaints call the local council instead of posting on trip advisor, as they know of the issues.

rot began in early 90s.. Spoons sold spitfire and fosters 99 p as pubs closed their prices went up.. Smoking ban didn't help either

Village pubs closed in their droves without a Spoons in sight.
There are still plenty pubs in city centres and good ones at that.

People ask for free product in return for a positive review.
Amazon have taken some action but it is still going on, one guy has left 54 reviews so ar this month.

I was looking at reviews for a bike I was interested in a couple of months ago. About a dozen on there, all 5's and 4's and a solitary 1 rating. When I read it the bloke gave it a 1 cos he got a puncture about two weeks after getting the bike.
