Well I watch Gateshead sometimes !Think about your question. Iam no engineer, but stands are obviously built on a rake. Within a few feet you will be on the pitch.
The only way you can go is up as you can start the new structure further back
You want to go to West Ham
A sink hole into wearmouth pit would do it nee botherOn the off chance we ever max out the expansion and had nowhere else to go, could we lower the pitch and add another few rows in?
If we are going full nut-job on this, then when Manure are in division 2, we can buy their stadium and bring it over the M62 and up the A19 to our gaff. We'll rename all the stands mind you, wouldn't want to be stupid, like.On the off chance we ever max out the expansion and had nowhere else to go, could we lower the pitch and add another few rows in?
You are actually incorrect regarding being closer to the pitch, the 35 degree steepness rule is correct, but distance to the pitch is a recommendation and is negotiable Spurs fans for example are far closer to the pitch than the likes of Wembley, the Emirates stadium or the SOL, the 17,500 wall at Spurs new stadium is less than 5m from the pitch as you can see below.

Looks the same distance to me like, the only difference is there's no walkway at the front of the stands like the SOL (which was design flaw imo).
Emirates and Wembley are both curved the second in particular so will be above the minimum to get more seats in.
I am not having a pop at Sunderland’s stadium mate I really like it, I was actually very envious of the SOL when I first saw it on TV just before it opened, I was just pointing out a fact to another poster the differences in distance to the pitch at both ends is extreme to say the least and the sides are also very clearly closer at Tottenham’s new stadium, your version of the same are obviously very different to mine and to reality.

I imagine it was part of emergency escape route through the two tunnels. We have limited number of exits otherwise.
That or Murray calculated that by setting it back a little he could get x number more seats in as each stand is a little longer. He wasted no space in cramming seats in .
The tramps from up the road would be there in droves, anything to be associated with success, the last cup they saw was in 1969 wasn't itWould be great to have the 2nd tier all the way round but unfortunately we couldn’t fill it. Maybe if we won a few titles and cups we might get a few thousand travelling up from Yorkshire![]()
At the first sign of success and crowd numbers increasing close the ticket office for longer.................that seems to workThe only way is up.
We will just increase the price of tickets and that will force some people out clearing the way for our new affluent fanbase.
Huzzah!
We need to close the club shop in case people want to pay with cash the absolute rotters. The tramps from up the road would be there in droves, anything to be associated with success, the last cup they saw was in 1969 wasn't it

Correct, believe it would then be able to hold 63000 capac1ty. Or am i wrong ?I think the ground was designed to add to stands all the way around without any pitch lowering
