Could the pitch be lowered?

The whole design of the stadium is flawed and done to save money, let's not kid ourselves.by digging down the 7 metres, it saved a vast area where the concourses should be.
Nothing better than having the chair in front dig into your shins and then jammed in like sardines trying to choke down a piss weak pint. Haway the lads.

The concourses are horrific and are dangerous in a packed stadium.
I agree, due to the fact anywhere else there would be 2 concourses, one at ground level, and one at half way up.in our ground we meet in the middle, which is actually at ground level. Huge savings on the build cost, but very impractical.

Not really no. The emergency services ramps being the biggest reason why you couldn’t.

That and the fact the SOL need not be extended ever again. The question I’d be asking is can we remove the north stand extension?
Why would we remove the extension when we will need it when we’re successful again?

Very negative SAFC post on the whole. Should be be flying high in the premier league we could fill 60k easy

Do you mind explaining this a bit further?
Yes mate, no problem.
If the pitch was the same level as the entrance to the ground, the concourse would be huge. The fact that when you enter the stadium, you are already half way up.the bottom tier has to come up to get a pint, and the upper tier have to come down. It's why the stadium looks so small from the outside on the approach to it.

Apparently the Saudi's are looking into lowering St James' Park by 2,900 km. The theory is since Satan bought Chris Wood it's only fair he gets to watch him.

“The Stadium of Light was further expanded in 2002 to a capacity of 49,000 seats. The stadium’s design allows for further expansions to a maximum capacity of 66,000 seats, though no plans for such expansion exist at the moment.”

How many times has it sold out? The expansion in 02 wasn’t necessary like
