Just lift the stands with a crane and drop a few lairs underneathOn the off chance we ever max out the expansion and had nowhere else to go, could we lower the pitch and add another few rows in?
I'm sure it was designed to have that 'red band' of tarmac around in order to host international games. Which we have.I've got Oosh on ignore so I think I'll be alright.
Was sat in the front row yesterday and It got me thinking that's all. Compared to other grounds we sit quite far from the pitch.
Think id rather do that than an actual expansion.
@Geronimo watch your letterbox.
Correct. 7 metres below ground level iirc from the tour when it was being built.It's already below ground level. Go much further and we'll hit a coal seam.
Correct. Always thought the pitch was " miles " from the seats. Perhaps this was because the stadium design was cheaper this way rather than having tight corners.I've got Oosh on ignore so I think I'll be alright.

I thought the homes in Leazes Terrace were the reason you couldn't expand your stadium?On the off chance we ever max out the expansion and had nowhere else to go, could we lower the pitch and add another few rows in?

Thats the spirit.We will never expand the 63k and we will never need to lower the pitch.
Cheers Big Duke, can you ever see it happening? I reckon stands will be knocked down and replaced before the stadium is extended in its current format. Not being negative, just honestly think that's how it will beThats the spirit.
Which is why the concourse is stupidly overcrowded at half time when a big crowd is in.Correct. 7 metres below ground level iirc from the tour when it was being built.
Hey up, here he comes.The only thing that needs to be lowered is expectations.
No as the pitch size would need to reduced and would be too small. There are regulations regarding the space from the edges of the playing surface to the crowd.On the off chance we ever max out the expansion and had nowhere else to go, could we lower the pitch and add another few rows in?
The whole design of the stadium is flawed and done to save money, let's not kid ourselves.by digging down the 7 metres, it saved a vast area where the concourses should be.No space in those poxy seats tbf and the concourse is way way too small.
