Contractions (wife obviously) started, I`m sitting here like a coiled spring ready to go into full ambulanbce driver mode as soon as I`m telt.

The whole build up to these events is canny f***ing naff like considering its such an amazing thing. In fact, I`d quite happily just strole in after the whole birth thing is done and dusted. Does this make me un-normal ?

I`ll take one of that purple jellyfish looking placenta thing in a few hours  Most disgusting thing I`ve ever seen in my life, sat in a tray at the end of the bed in the 'aftermath' when our first was born

I would not have missed the birth of the little Raven for anything. I didn't look at the 'business end' though.

It is a truly magical thing when you get your child put in your arms for the first time. Easily one of the best moments in my life.

Well he`s here. Arrived at 12:21 this afternoon. I`ve just about got the circulation back into my fingers.

Everything went well, just left before as I am now in sole control of the 2 year old for 24 hours  Her mams there and her sisters are going in so I think I`ll just recover before returning tomorrow.

I might call him Bruce ;) although at 7lb 7 he`s not of the right frame.

Doesnt half take it out of yer this birth thing

You seemed to have managed well tho'. it's not easy on the fathers, who always seem to be forgotten about. Take it easy mate, put ya feet up and have some "me time" to recover;)

Congrats too.

its the most amazing thing seeing your own kids being born.

Treature the moment for the rest of your life.:-D

apart from that you'll be amazed how much a fanny can stretch:eek:

I didnt look I was just staring at the wall/floor. Near the end, he stopped coming out as the contractions stopped, from what the midwife was saying just his little head was sticking out of the fanny until the next contraction came along to force him out

Congratulations fella. Still remember my 22 year olds birth like yesterday.

Congratulations, now get that placenta picture up.......
