You might well have flu. All I know is I’ve only had proper flu once, had rotten stinking colds with temperatures etc loads of times. The time I had flu I definitely wouldn’t have been arguing the toss on here as I could barely lift my head off the pillow, and looking at a phone or computer screen would have been too painful.

I once went to a doctor because I was suffering from fatigue. I was charged $800.

The invoice had separate charges for everything they tested for; HIV - $80, diabetes $150 etc., and they didn't find anything. I had insurance but it took months to get the money back minus excess. Fair to say my fatigue cleared up sharpish.

You don't go to see a doctor in the USA unless you're at deaths door. And it's no better than the NHS.

This for me, had some horrible viruses that have made me stay in bed. But the one time I had flu was a different level. Personally think anyone who has genuinely had flu would never confuse it with a bad cold.
Similar to a genuine migraine v headache.

People need to learn very quickly that the NHS is absolutely incredible. No moaning that it takes 3 months to sort your knee out or whatever. The more that the passive attitude takes hold regarding the NHS the worse off the UK becomes. It desperately needs a government that believes in fully financing it.

I was in Vegas last yer and picked up a bit of conjunctivitis on the plane over. It got to the point where it was real painful and my eye was streaming. I went into CVS pharmacy and got a load of stuff but after 24 hours it had got no better so booked an appointment with their consultant doctor which you had to sign up for, I think was something in the region of around $160. Anyway she sees me, tells me I could just get stuff off the shelf for it, took me out into the pharmacy and showed me the best stuff to get then said she wouldn't charge for the appointment. I was gobsmacked and chuffed with her attitude in equal measure.

I had a greater interest that the Government may have put in place special measures to prevent it spreading internally due to people not wanting to go to the doctors and spend money. Certainly, the poorer areas where population density is higher. From the response, it seems that decision hasn’t been made and it’s likely that any infections over there will spread to a greater number of the population than what could be easily controlled with a simple and temporary change of legislation.
