Coronavirus compendium thread

Seaburn looks quiet at the moment. Loads of CCTV for the voyeuristic lurkers on here to perve at in the link below but I've hoyed 2 Seaburn ones up. Also look at the main link, there's very few cars around, about 16, 4 vans, a bus and ambulance to be precise in all the images. They do sometimes change angles but these 47 cameras working there at various locations and some are in the same close vicinity but even so, that's very little movement at the moment and it looks surreal as many cameras are showing empty roads!

Does anyone know what testing strategies other countries use, numbers aside. If Germany are testing 70k a day for example. 60k haven't got it. What do they do with those 60k people? They can't let them out, they might catch it. Do they retest once a week?
It's all very well locking people away but when it's lifted there will still be people not immune mixing with contagious people.

The people being tested aren't necessarily in hospital.
They have means for community testing of those who feel ill...without access to hospital.

The result is avaiable in 24 hrs
And then the person knows to isolate.
Not sure how they deal with contacts .

It's basically like a fire watch - you look for where the fire may be starting and you stamp it out quickly before it has a chance to spread.

Being a federal country they also have a good regional control network.

As many experts have pointed out - these aren't really national epidemics - they are localised hot spots and need to be dealt with as such by locals on the ground

Not a chance.

As becs said, the genie is out the bottle now. We’ll be clapping people who pick up their dog’s shit next.
I'm thinking about making a few signs to stick in the ground "pick your dog shit up you filthy bastards" but not sure how I can weatherproof the buggers.
Clap for the kids at 3pm to show proud we all are all of them

Anyone partaking?
Erm no.

Handcock on marr commented that the new min ventilators now required (at next weeks peak) is down from 30,000 to 18,000, but only if the public stay indoors . He then, after multiple questions on the topic suggested the government would only have 13,500 available next weekend.......

That announcement he made in the HOP on 23rd of January 10 weeks ago claiming the uk was 'well prepared' for covid 19 hasnt aged well
