Copt hill pub

if the copt hill did something decent with the land surrounding it like a beer garden with those views over the valley i reckon more people would be tempted when out on a sunday drive etc

however the place looks desolate and isn't helped by scraggy horses constantly being tied up on the grass next to it all the time

it was heaving the other day when the sun was out. Just like most pubs in the Houghton/Hetton area, all going to the wall. Guaranteed someone will come in and give it a go. Subsidised beer, cheap rates for a few months then closed again.
The Mill is good and managed well.Wouldn’t say it was expensive though….good value.
Get in often for food. Chicken Kiev is the biggest in the world and scrummy....Never finished one yet.

The Mills a canny pub, one of the better ones in Houghton, was in there on Sunday for some bait.
Never been in the Burn for years, it always seemed too big & soulless.
It must be a nightmare running a successful pub these days, a dying art, good luck to anyone giving it a go, they need it.

Burn was good before they did it out and made it as open as it is. Certainly is soulless now. Rarely gan in.
