We called on on a Friday neet a few weeks ago. It was like a f***ing kids play park. There were bairns just running wild all owa the place. There wasn't even any other people in so i think they were the staffs kids or just feral I don't know

It's a bit like football ,constant change and a 1/3 the budget needed to give it a chance spent and you just paper over cracks . Its not a "local" location so its needs to go for the bait/driving mob which means ,top quality inside and chefs

In the middle of nowhere, half the houses nearby will be occupied by White Lightning drinkers.

Will live/die on food, looks like it's die.

Went in a couple of years ago for a meal and it was shite like. Could be a class spot if they got a good chef in and some good beer.

Greatest problem is you’ve got to drive to get there. At the top of Gillas Lane so not in walkable distance like other places in Houghton are. It’s been decent at times over the years but that was a while back.

Aye, to survive that you've got to offer really good food. It's not a drinking pub precisely because of this.

Had food there years ago and wasn’t impressed. Nearby the Burn is cheap but not great and the Mill is dead expensive.

Used to like The Mill but last couple of times we went it'd gone massively downhill. Not tried the Burn.
