Cool people



Chuck a name up ,just that or a few words with it
Someone we all know or can check out ..not just known for having a cool career but just an all round cool person
I'll start

Just for those that can't be bothered to read a Wiki page, here's the breakdown:

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in1962.
By age 15, reached national level in both swimming and gymnastics.
After his parents moved to the UK, was chosen to swim on the British international swimming squad, qualifying for the 1984 Olympics.
Was given a university scholarship in the USA, where he trained with the US swimming team.
Instead of competing in the Olympics, moved back to South Africa and joined the air force.
Achieved the highest athletic award given in the air force, the Victor Ludorum.
After 2 years in the air force, started teaching windsurfing and waterskiing.
Landed a job in a stage show that led to him touring the world as a dancer/acrobat.
Became a performer at the Moulin Rouge. (He later authored a book about his year at the Moulin Rouge)/
Whilst studying drama, became a model and enjoyed success in ramp, print and TV commercials.
Won the 1992 Mr. South Africa talent and action man competition.
Landed a guest spot that led to a lead role in a South African soap opera, which he stayed on for 6 years.
Emigrated to the US and landed a guest role on Nash Bridges.
Landed the part of Ba'al on Stargate SG-1, starting as a guest role and later a recurring character, for 6 seasons and a movie.
Presented a travelogue documentary.
Died in a kiteboarding accident, aged 58, on 9th March 2021.
