Connor Wickham

oi have criticised him in the past but i 'm admitting i was wrong he was a handful today for two world class defenders despite getting nil service from the flanks .
For those who say he offers no goal threat . If sess had squared the ball he had a tap in in the 1st five minutes man!

one of the big plusses from that game for me , judge him against stoke , southampton not his first 90mins against the european champions.

Very well said, even if it did start with a farmers accent.

I imagine you saying that after exiting an outside toilet a la The Fast Show.

Wickham looks like he's playing a different sport to Danny Graham he's that much better. If Sess had shown a bit more composure early on he'd have had a goal as well. All round play was great if you take it in context that he hasn't played too well up front alone in the past and has hardly played recently. Got to be first choice in the last 6 games.

for me that was straight red all day - he even looked and waited for him before raising the elbow

would hope that gets looked at after the game
not that it really helps us now - he wouldnt have gotten away with that if he was in a red n white shirt

Red and white blinkers off...

I dont think it was a deliberate elbow. It was never anything but an accident. Right decision.

Connor will come good playing next to a quick goalscorer. That's the problem. He is more of a link man because his hold up play is superb. He has 2 good feet too.

aye someone like Fraizer Campbell (thanks MoN)

Thought the lads did well 1st half Whickham,Sess,N'Daiye and Gards all put in a decent shift,at half time thinking if we can just come out 2nd half and do the same again, another goal would maybe see these off ????? That all went tits up after about the first 10 minutes from the restart,GREAT ! Back to what we use to,we weren't really in it after that. Then just when we all thought aww well at least the enemy only got a point noooooooooooooooo ! Let's just keep everything crossed we come away from Satan's country will a result on sun please please please please please please ! Keep the faith lads !

Did well today. We must get the lad facing their goal though. He has talent, just needs to be allowed to flourish.

:lol: Campbell? Goalscorer? He was/is f***ing rubbish man

I know, he scored a few for cardiff

hey, I was definately not a fan of FC, but to have spunked £5M on Danny Graham in place of him is a f***ing disgrace

better option than our £5,000,000 man is:lol:

Campbell was tried, tested and failed miserably.

Somehow Fatty Graham managed to score in the PL. That's how he got his chance. I too however, think Graham's hopeless but Campbell had had too many chances to show he wasn't shite and failed

Hes 6ft 4 and about 14 stone ffs, is the least we should expect

He offers zero goal threat, f***ing right waste of money

Waste of money? Liverpool paid 35 million for Andy Carrol, that should put things in to perspective.

Wickham is a talented footballer, but he's built to be a target man, which he will become a very good one as his touch is really good.

Alongside a goal scorer (Fletcher) and we'll be reaping the rewards. Bare in mind the lad is only 20 and is still developing, he was never bought for an immediate impact. I remember some ex-footballer saying if anyone expects Wickham to impress withing 3 or 4 years they're stupid. He was bought for the future, and when he starts to peak, if we're patient with him we'll have a very good and rare type of player at our club, a target man who's good with his feet.
